Let's begin with Bumble and Bumble Surf Shampoo, a gentle aquatic scented scented shampoo that removes product build up without drying out even the longest of locks. The key ingredients include an especially selected mineral blend of Magnesium Sulfate and Sodium Chloride all of which may help to the give the hair soft, beachy texture without any trace of crispness. This is combined with Sea Botanical Blend: Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract and Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract to ensure that the shampoo is both hydrating and softening. I'm not going to pretend that this used alone will give you beach ready waves but if you already have some semblance of a curl pattern this will define and add volume. It gives a my natural waves a boost and somewhat aids the softening of frizz - not too shabby for a shampoo!
Every good shampoo needs a great conditioner, a partner in crime if you will. Luckily Bumble and Bumble Surf Creme Conditioner answers the call, a light yet hydrating treatment that imparts both volume and softness into the hair. If you have fine, easily weighed down hair or typically find conditioner leaves your hair looking and feeling lank this may be the product you have been waiting for. Bumble and Bumble Surf Creme Conditioner contains the same above core ingredients as the shampoo of the same name but with the additional bonus of what Bumble and Bumble are deeming a Conditioning Blend: Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Behentrimonium Chloride and Polyquaternium-11, this is to moisturise condition and detangle the hair. Longer, thicker hair types may need to team this with a leave in conditioner or stand alone de-tangler but other than that I can not fault it. I find Bumble and Bumble Surf Creme Conditioner tames frizz, doesn't weigh the hair down and does help to define curls/waves. I should also mention that it smells wonderful - again aquatic and like a trip to the seaside, without leaving the comfort of your home.
If you have naturally wavy or curly hair and only want to add a little volume, definition and softness the Bumble and Bumble Surf Shampoo and Conditioner duo is something well worth investing in.

Thanks for the review! I have been using a salt spray on and off for a few years now and I am super curious as to how I would get on with using a shampoo and conditioner too :)

I wanted to try this shampoo/conditioner combo for so long now, but I have oily hair, so I am always a bit reluctant to try out new products. Would you recommend it for "oily" type of hair?

I really want to give this a try, I really like the new Surf Infusion and think the shampoo will be just as good!

I loved the shampoo, but I found that whilst it made my hair all awesome and thick and stuff, it made it really dry too and ever so hard to brush. I'm sure that's where the conditioner comes in to help that, but I hate using the stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love it, but not the price. :(
