Essie Summer Collection 2015

Each year I look forward to Essie's Summer collection and each year it more than delivers. In my opinion Essie Peach Side Babe is one of the best line up's yet - a capsule collection of bright, muted and neutral shades that not only offer something for everyone's taste but also most occasions too. With six shades to choose from I'm more than sure that one of the Essie Peach Side Babe polishes will worm their way into your stash sooner or later. Let's look a little closer shall we?

Essie Summer Collection 2015

Essie Peach Side Babe collection draws inspiration from endless Summer fun and aims to brighten up everyone's day with a bright pop of colour - classic or not, it is safe to say with a coat or two of your chosen shade you'll be one step closer to beach Goddess (or God). Below is all six shades with the official descriptions and any notable dupes, as a side note the swatches aren't as clean as I'd like. A few days ago I hurt my hand and had to paint my nails with two fingers taped together - not ideal. In a few days I will re-paint and replace the less than stellar swatches, until then I hope they will suffice in giving you a feel for each shade. Hashtag excuses.

Essie Summer Collection 2015

Essie Private Weekend - A shimmering true white, sadly it doesn't translate as such on camera but in reality this almost has a silver nuance due to the opalescent effect. This has quite a thin texture making it a little tricky to work with, you have to be patient to avoid over applying. My above photo shows three coats but if a light, slightly shimmery almost natural nail is what you desire, then one coat will do the job.

Essie Chillato - Listed as a pastel lemon, I'd argue and say this is chartreuse - not quite yellow yet not truly green. Despite being a light, milky shade this translates on to the nails as almost neon and is my favourite shade from the bunch. I adore how different the shade is from the norm and think it will really come to life on tanned and deep complexions. Essie Chillato Nail Laquer has a thicker than average texture, it takes a little longer to dry but on the plus side it is opaque in two coats.

Essie Saltwater Happy - A light cornflower blue that could pass as a lilac polish. If you are a fan of Essie Bikini So Teeny I'd imagine you will want to add this to your collection. Think of Essie Saltwater Happy as the duskier, deeper and more grown up version of Bikini So Teeny.

Essie Summer Collection 2015

Essie Peach Side Babe - The title shade of the collection and in my opinion the polish that will suit just about everyone. A light, strongly orange tinged coral that is both bright yet classic - this will look great on both the hands and feet. Again this has a thick texture and is opaque in two coats. If you have Essie Tart Deco within your stash then this is one you may want to skip as it is pretty similar.

Essie Pret-a-Surfer - What would a Summer nail collection be without a nautical blue? Lacking that is what. Essie answer the call with Pret-a-Surfer, a bright yet somewhat lilac tinged blue - I guess this is what we'd all deem to be a true Cornflower Blue. If you are a fan of Nails Inc Baker Street but want something ever so different this is the polish that should come home with you! This has an extremely thick texture - one coat offers up full opaqueness.

Essie Sunside Sneaks - Is it red, is it orange? No it is a combination of both and it couldn't be more fitting for the Summer season. This is perhaps the most classic shade out of the six polishes but one that should not be overlooked. If you have plans to purchase the newly launched Estee Lauder Kendall Jenner Restless Lipstick then this is the perfect shade to match your lips. Despite being one of the deeper shades this does require at least two coats to become opaque.

Which shade calls to you?

You can find all six shades via Boots for £7.99 each (I have linked each shade individually above).
