Escada Turquoise Summer Eau de Toilette

For me the scent of Summer is always the latest Escada scent (apparently a new and limited edition summer fragrance has been launched by the brand since 1993) and has been for as long as I can recall. The first Escada fragrance I ever bought was Escada Rockin' Rio (please make this permanent) and I have been hooked ever since. This year the limited edition scent from Escada is Turquoise Summer, a surprisingly sweet blend of fruity notes.

With a title like Escada Turquoise Summer you would be forgiven for assuming that the fragrance would lean slightly aquatic? Not the case at all, this is very much a sugar sweet and typical of Escada scent, if you don't enjoy bright and dare I say it a tad synthetic fragrances this won't be for you. If you are a fan of Escada scents on the whole then I am sure you know what to expect. I somewhat deem them to be the older and longer wearing sister of the Victoria Secret Body Sprays!

Escada Turquoise Summer Eau de Toilette is a blend of their own unique creation - the Tutti Frutti note combined with juicy berries such as strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. This is complimented by a ripe peach note, and gentle floral additions of violet and orange blossom. At the base there is a creamy concoction of vanilla and sandalwood which is only really noticeable after an hour or two of wear. It is very, very sweet, young and fruity (pineapple and strawberry are what I detect most) - think of the most sugar laden and bright cocktail you have ever drank and you won't go far wrong. I oddly can not get enough of it, it reminds me of warm summer days both home and abroad - it is inoffensive and overall a light scent that doesn't cloy or change with the heat. Would I wear it everyday?

Probably not but it is ideal for rainy days (Summer has yet to reach Glasgow) and a scent I would consider packing if jetting off to somewhere a little more tropical than the UK. Essentially if you are an Escada fan, hot foot it down to your local counter and give this a try - I doubt you'll be disappointed.
