Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer

Barry M is a great go to for nail polish but is often overlooked when it comes to make-up staples. The latest item to win me over is the new Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer range, three light diffusing concealers that not only perfect the skin but brighten too. At just £4.49 a pop they are not to be missed if a shade is suitable for your needs.

The packaging of the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers may not be the prettiest but it is more than practical and the brush applicator beats pricer concealers out there. The small brush allows for precise application all the while being gentle, even on the delicate eye area. If you use concealer to highlight the brush applicator really aids this process - I can not fault the brush applicator in case you have not noticed. The plastic style casing of the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer is ideal for everyday use and travel, the sturdy design survives a knock or two and the lightweight style is an added bonus - no-one wants a weighed down make-up bag or case.

Before I lay on the praise, thick and heavy for the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers I do have to discuss the shade range. Three shades is really limited, especially when all three options are incredibly light. As someone with a light to medium complexion it is not often that I can say that the darkest hue is a smidgen too light for my skin tone, sadly this is the case with the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer range. Admittedly I can use Shade 3 Dark to highlight and conceal my under eye area, I however can not use it anywhere else on my face. A quick overview of the shades: Shade 1 Light - a pale, yellow toned ivory, I'd imagine suitable for most pale complexions to brighten and conceal. Shade 2 Medium is a little deeper but again yellow toned and lastly Shade 3 Dark isn't technically all that deep at all, rather it is a more pink toned version of the medium hue. If you have a light complexion or enjoy highlighting with concealers this is the range for you; otherwise I'm afraid it is a waiting game, hoping that one day the limited shade variation will become more expansive.

I can truly say that the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers are one of the best budget formulations I have stumbled across, they can more than rival the beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. As a matter of a fact I am going to put my cards on the table and state that the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer is a great dupe for NARS Creamy Concealer (shades aside of course). The creamy, easy to blend texture, combined with the high yet illuminating (there is no shimmer particles) coverage of this formula makes it a dead ringer for the pricer NARS concealer. The Barry M version glides on to the skin with ease; it is a dream to blend and buff into the skin, it isn't prone to creasing nor oxidising and due to the addition of Cucumber and Aloe it soothes, cools and comforts the eye area - I think this could be ideal for those who suffer from puffy eyes. Rather the creamy texture is hydrating and set with a little powder it wears true, even on my oily skin. If it wasn't for narrow variety of shades I would say this has winner stamped all over it!
