Barry M is a great go to for nail polish but is often overlooked when it comes to make-up staples. The latest item to win me over is the new Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer range, three light diffusing concealers that not only perfect the skin but brighten too. At just £4.49 a pop they are not to be missed if a shade is suitable for your needs.
The packaging of the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers may not be the prettiest but it is more than practical and the brush applicator beats pricer concealers out there. The small brush allows for precise application all the while being gentle, even on the delicate eye area. If you use concealer to highlight the brush applicator really aids this process - I can not fault the brush applicator in case you have not noticed. The plastic style casing of the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer is ideal for everyday use and travel, the sturdy design survives a knock or two and the lightweight style is an added bonus - no-one wants a weighed down make-up bag or case.
Before I lay on the praise, thick and heavy for the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers I do have to discuss the shade range. Three shades is really limited, especially when all three options are incredibly light. As someone with a light to medium complexion it is not often that I can say that the darkest hue is a smidgen too light for my skin tone, sadly this is the case with the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer range. Admittedly I can use Shade 3 Dark to highlight and conceal my under eye area, I however can not use it anywhere else on my face. A quick overview of the shades: Shade 1 Light - a pale, yellow toned ivory, I'd imagine suitable for most pale complexions to brighten and conceal. Shade 2 Medium is a little deeper but again yellow toned and lastly Shade 3 Dark isn't technically all that deep at all, rather it is a more pink toned version of the medium hue. If you have a light complexion or enjoy highlighting with concealers this is the range for you; otherwise I'm afraid it is a waiting game, hoping that one day the limited shade variation will become more expansive.
I can truly say that the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealers are one of the best budget formulations I have stumbled across, they can more than rival the beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. As a matter of a fact I am going to put my cards on the table and state that the Barry M Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer is a great dupe for NARS Creamy Concealer (shades aside of course). The creamy, easy to blend texture, combined with the high yet illuminating (there is no shimmer particles) coverage of this formula makes it a dead ringer for the pricer NARS concealer. The Barry M version glides on to the skin with ease; it is a dream to blend and buff into the skin, it isn't prone to creasing nor oxidising and due to the addition of Cucumber and Aloe it soothes, cools and comforts the eye area - I think this could be ideal for those who suffer from puffy eyes. Rather the creamy texture is hydrating and set with a little powder it wears true, even on my oily skin. If it wasn't for narrow variety of shades I would say this has winner stamped all over it!

I've just bought the Maybelline Fit Me concealer but wish I'd bought this one now. Definitely getting this next time! A shame about the shade range but, if you're using it under the eyes most people like it super light :) fingers crossed for some more shades soon!

Unless you don't have light skin...
DeleteThis looks great, I think that the shade Light would be perfect for me, but I do hope that they will expend the shade range, it would be nice for darker complexion. I would definitely love to try it, especially if you say that it's a great dupe for Nars Creamy Concealer!

I have the palest shade and I have been really disappointed with the coverage as it's so thin :( I don't find that it covers at all, and my dark circles aren't even that bad! I'm pleased the darkest shade worked for you :) xx
ReplyDeleteI do find the Collection concealer quite thick so will have to give these a shout - it's nice to see a wider range of pale shades but hopefully they release more!

These seem like such lovely concealers! I haven't seen a brush applicator used for this format in a long, long time.

I love highlighting concealers and this one sound amazing! I totally agree with you about the colour range, many great foundations/concealers have very little options! I will definitely give this one a try! :)

This is great for me since usually the lightest shade is too dark for me! I'm heading to England in two weeks and I cannot wait to search for these! They sound awesome!

I would never think to look on the Barry M stand for concealer. This sounds amazing though! I love a good illuminating concealer for under the eyes, currently using the Maybelline Eraser xx

Im old with wrinkles (im fine with it I swear..lol) and I saw this a few weeks ago but hadn't seen any reviews on it. Then yours popped up and I thought ok ill try it. ITS AMAZING...It works so well on my old wrinkly eyes..it brightens, doesn't crease, lasts all day...not the best coverage but that can look worse on old skin anyway....its a winner from me...if your old and wrinkly...:) xxx
