What's New On the High Street - April 2015

If you don't have time to run the gauntlet of the beauty aisles in Superdrug and Boots, don't know where to start online and have given up on newsletters - let me break down what is new within the budget friendly sector of beauty with the UK. Some launches are already available for purchase others you will have to wait a week or so but the good news is that everything below is entirely affordable!

What's New On the High Street - April 2015

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint Collection £4.99 each via Boots - link
A collection of six new nail paints and a top coat that offers not only a discounted version of gel nails but a safer option too. Simply paint your nails with one of the seven new Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint and allow to dry, next apply the Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing and allow natural light to kick start the curing process. I recommend popping outside to really get the most from the topcoat and to speed up the drying time. The end result is super glossy nails which should wear chip free for up to seven days all without the need for a UV lamp. Safe, budget friendly with a good selection of shades to choose from.

Barry M Glow Bronzers £5.69 each via Boots - link
Two huge new bronzing powders from Barry M that have been created for use not only on the face but also the body. Well pigmented, soft and easy to blend this could be the perfect summer make-up bag addition to create a faux, sun kissed glow. The Barry M Glow Bronzers come in two shades: Afterglow which is the lighter of the two - a warm, slightly ruddy shade that reminds me a lot of Benefit Dallas Blush. Personally I wouldn't recommend using it to contour due to the shimmer but it does warm the skin not to mention it doubles up as a blush option. Deepglow is a cooler toned, sand yet olive toned bronzer. Yes this is slightly shimmery but much like NARS Laguna it is very subtle so it can be used to contour as well as your standard blush/bronzer.

Barry M Radiant Rod £3.99 via Superdrug - link
Not only does this offer a pretty lit within glow but it does so with both precision and convenience. This creamy highlighting crayon, glides onto the skin with ease and delivers a soft, trail of shimmer behind - creating dimension. The crayon style allows you to not only apply as you go but also to target specific areas which you can't always do with powder products. Simply slick on the Barry M Radiant Rod and gently blend out using your fingers - fuss free and great for on the go applications.

Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Day Cream SPF 15 £3.28 via Superdrug - link
A thick yet lightweight moisturiser that is quickly absorbed and non-greasy which offers an SPF protection of 15. As much as I like the texture - it is really hydrating yet suitable for oily skin, I do wish the SPF factor was a little higher. I prefer a higher SPF factor for my everyday needs so I will most likely be using this as a hand cream.

L'Oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara £7.99 via Superdrug - link
A new duo ended mascara that offers a primer/base coat to thicken and lengthen the eyelashes, coupled with a black mascara to really make the most of the additional volume and length. If that is not enough there is also a new L'Oreal Superstar Superliner (£7.99), a fine tipped felt style liner that offers both precision and inky black results.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Lacque £8.99 each via Superdrug - link
First we had Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks - a matte, long wearing liquid lipstick, now we have the glossy version which is altogether lighter and more hydrating. On the lips it feels like a gel and is virtually weightless - not to mention cooling. If you enjoy a glossy finish when it comes to lip products but want something that is well pigmented and non-sticky/greasy this is the product that dreams are made of.

Bourjois La Laque Nail Enamels £6.49 (launching in May)
A huge new nail collection from Bourjois will launch this coming May, featuring no less than 12 shades to choose from. Not only is the new bottle shape convenient for stacking but it has been designed to control the distribution of polish on the brush. The end result is super glossy nails in two coats and a brush that offers the perfect shape for all nail widths and styles. I will pop up a full review soon but I can vouch that they are wonderful and most likely my polish of choice come the summer weather.

A huge array of new and exciting products for April and early May, wouldn't you agree?
