Wax Box April 2015

Beauty boxes aren't for everyone as novel as the concept may be - don't get me wrong I enjoy said boxes but do I use everything within them? No and I doubt you do either. If like myself you enjoy the world of home fragrance and/or perhaps you are looking to discover new fragrance brands then the newly launched Wax Box is for you.

At just £10 you get a monthly box delivered to your door, well packaged and bursting full of wax tarts (and on occasion small candles) from lesser known brands as well as more independent lines. It is a great way to discover fragrance companies that perhaps would have went unnoticed otherwise. Within the April Wax Box there was 10 Wax Tarts which work out to be less than £1 each - you won't find that level of value on the high street! Here is what is within the April Wax Box...

Wax Box April 2015

First up we have two highly scented wax tarts from Delectables Wax - don't let the small stature of the triangles fool you, the scent throw is incredible! In this months box we have Bubblegum Delights which is a bright, true bubblegum fragrance, along with Blueberry Cheesecake which smells identical to the blue ring pops from my childhood. It is a super sweet scent that oddly works well blended with the Bubblegum tart. Delectable Delights is one of the brands within the box I had never heard of before but will be certain to order from in the future.

Another independent home fragrance brand that is within the Wax Box is samples from Mystic Melts - small but again well fragranced tarts that more than fill a room with their sweet aromas. The yellow tart is rather amusingly dubbed Monkey Farts which is a bright, fruity and somewhat tropical blend. The green tart is Fruit Loops which is rather true to the breakfast cereal. Much like above these work well together as well as stand alone scents.

Two other brands completely new to me are Nutty Crafts which are the provider of the Cool Aqua tart - a fresh, somewhat masculine aquatic scent. It somewhat reminds me of Davidoff Cool Water Eau de Toilette. If like myself you are a little bunged up due to allergies then the Sniffle Buster tart from Penguin and Floss may well come in handy. A blend of de-congesting oils such as menthol and eucalyptus will help all bogged down with the sniffles not to mention it generally smells great.

If you like large wax tarts that can be halved and used for more than one burn then Tarts with a Heart are a brand you may want to familiarise yourself with. Within the Wax Box April 2015 edition you get to sample the fragrance Twilight which is a light, clean and very feminine blend of coconut and jasmine. I find it to be rather relaxing and dare I say it sleepy?

Much to my surprise and utter delight the April Wax Box featured my favourite ever Yankee fragrance - Fireside Treats. Sweet but slightly smoky - think of roasted marshmallows and you won't go far wrong. I could burn this scent all day, everyday.

Much like Yankee Candles I would say that Busy Bee Candles are perhaps one of the more familiar brands within this months box. Inside the April box there is two Busy Bee Candles selections a box of Magik Beanz in April Showers - very reminiscent of fresh tulips, all the while being fairly aquatic. The idea is that you burn a few beads within a wax tart burner at a time. There was also a Busy Bee Spring Meadow Wax Tart in the fragrance Spring Meadow which is a soft but green based floral - perfect for brightening up any rainy April evening.

As someone who is utterly obsessed with home fragrancing (not a day goes by in which I don't have a candle or tart flickering away) this box is pretty much a dream come true. I get a wide array of brands and fragrances delivered to my door for just £10 with zero commitment. Oddly within the box there are scents that I wouldn't have picked up if blind ordering on the web, yet they have turned out to be my favourites. I like how convenient this box is and how varied the selection is. I can not recommend enough.
