Today I popped into Lush for a brief on all that is new and upcoming over the next month or so. The problem with Lush is that temptation is only all to ripe, I had no intentions of purchasing anything and yet here we are. Rather than doing my usual and stocking up on my favourites I decided to try some new things - mainly soap and scrubs.
Lush Movis Face Soap from £4.50
An entirely new concept to me but I do prescribe to the don't knock it until you've tried it mindset. Apparently this soap wholemeal bread to exfoliate, with wheatgerm oil, hop oil and Fair Trade organic cocoa butter to soften the skin. I was impressed to find out that Movis is free from animal fats, palm oil and petrochemicals. I'm hoping that it doesn't dry out my skin or leave it feeling tight but I will report back with a full review once I have fully tested this out.
Lush Coalface Face Soap from £4.95
I figured if you are going to purchase one facial soap, it only made sense to purchase another for the sake of comparison. This soap which can also be used on the body is made antiseptic rosewood, sandalwood as well as absorbent charcoal. The idea is that it deeply cleanses and softens the skin in one quick step. It is somewhat akin to a face mask yet a quicker fix that can be used daily.
Lush Sandstone Soap from £3.40
A zesty lemon soap that features real sand to exfoliate the body, leaving the skin softer and visibly brighter. This is for use on the body and is essentially a 2-in-1 treatment - a cleanser and body scrub in one. I have used this in the past and I am keen to pop into the shower tonight and see if this can work its magic once more.
Lush Rockstar Soap from £3.40
I like to have a chunk of this in the shower to use every now and then in place of shower gel, it smells exactly like Lush Snow Fairy but only is in soap form. You can also use this as a hand soap - either way it smells wonderful and is a great way to get a hit of the Snow Fairy scent all year round.
Lush Porridge Soap from £3.10
Every now and then the skin on my body becomes super dry, itchy and on occasion I get patches of eczema. I have read several reviews on Lush Porridge Soap all of which state that it is the ideal alternative to shower gel for such skin conditions as it gently cleanses, soothes and cools the skin in one quick step. I have high hopes for this.
Lush Sugar Scrub £2.95
This has been on my to try list for what seems like forever, it is one of those products that I mean to purchase each time I go into Lush and always forget. Well not this time. This is a mix of sugar, grated ginger and fresh fennel to brighten the skin, boost circulation and of course buff the skin. You can use this on dry skin for an intense treatment or rub over damp skin for a more gentle approach. I am a little worried that this will turn to mush once in the shower, but as always I will review in full in the coming weeks.
Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub from £7.75
I tried this in store today and knew I had to make a sneaky purchase, although a gritty scrub for the face and body it is surprisingly gentle. The best way to describe this is a gritty scrub combined with a creamy body butter - it smells incredible, buffs the skin into the softest state and is just a joy to use. I think I have found a new staple.
Lush Stepping Stone £3.10
Feet need love too! As much as I hate feet, it is time that I accept that sandal season is nearly here and I quite literally want to put my best foot forward. Apparently this is not only a foot scrub and pumice but also a deodoriser. I did purchase this on a whim and now somewhat regret it as it does look to be a rather messy affair.
Have you tried any of the above?
If so especially the foot scrub and facial soaps do let me know if you have any tips!
Ooh thanks for this. I usually try one of Lush's cleaners so I'll have to switch it up with these face soaps. I have yet to try them.

Wow, so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a Lush restock in what feels like forever! I have only ever used the foot out of those items and that was amazing in a foot bath!

Movies smells utterly divine, yet I found it tended to crumble to mush after use, so leave it somewhere it can dry!
ReplyDeletePorridge is definitely one for the watchlist, especially if it helps with eczema.

Ooh I like the idea of the face soap. I bought a shampoo bar from Lush which I suppose is a similar concept and I really like it. Let us know what you think of it :).

The sugar scrub is great - it helps with cellulite also. I will get it damp only once or twice and then break off as needed. It will hold together much better that way.
ReplyDeleteI think I will now need to try the Sandstone, looks like my next purchase! I rely on Lush's Ro's Argan Body Conditioner, definitely worth trying if you havent already :)
