Sleek Make-Up Del Mar Volume 2 Palette

Fun fact - it has been more than a little windy here in Glasgow. So much so that when I was outside, snapping the images for this post a few days ago the little foam applicator blew away. I did attempt to chase it but gave up. I doubt many care or have a use for the foam applicators so many eyeshadow palettes come complete with but if you do rest assure that the new Sleek Make-Up Del Mar Volume 2 Palette.

As with most Sleek Make-Up palettes this comes in a simple but chic black plastic casing, complete with a large mirror and of course that elusive foam applicator! Despite holding 12 well sized wells of eyeshadow I do find the palette to generally be compact, robust and ideal for travelling. Packaging aside I'm sure you came here for swatches and a break down of the formula? Well without further ado, the shades are as follows:

As a huge fan of Sleek Make-Up and most notably their eyeshadow palettes it does pain me to say that the quality is just not there. The eyeshadows are weakly pigmented, dry and chalky. I realise my second set swatches above do appear to give off the impression that the colour saturation is there, annoyingly I have over compensated and swatched heavily but the light swatches are a true indication of the pigment pay off. As you can see the overall texture is very crumbly and stark. Sure you could apply in layers and use a good primer but this is not one of the better Sleek Make-Up palettes. Truthfully I do think Sleek Make-Up struggle when it comes to matte eyeshadows, which in fairness even high end brands also fall flat, hence why the Sleek Make-Up Del Mar Volume 2 Palette doesn't live up to my exceptions. If this was a palette full of metallic eyeshadows which the brand do better than anyone else, I have no doubt that they would've knocked it out of the park. Hey you can't win them all!

Sleek Make-Up Del Mar Volume 2 Palette will launch on the 23rd of March and will cost £7.99.
