bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25 Review

bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25

I think by now regular readers will know that I am a little obsessed with facial SPF, I apply it daily and find myself looking for new ways to protect my skin. Apparently bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25 is not a new products at all and is in fact one of the brands best selling products. It sells out constantly and is actually pretty difficult to track down. If you find typical SPF creams too heavy or are looking for a way to top up on protection throughout the day bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25 could be your new make-up staple.

In a nutshell bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25 is a setting powder infused with an SPF of 25 - it can be used on its own, to set make-up and/or to keep shine at bay throughout the day. There is two colour options to choose from: original, which is essentially a translucent shade (colourless) and should suit most and also tinted which is better suited to medium to deep complexions or could be used as a bronzer. For a moment let's forget this contains SPF and focus on its capabilities as a loose powder - finely milled so it never feels heavy nor cakes on the skin regardless of how frequently you apply throughout the day. If like myself you have skin that is easily irritated this will more than likely be one of the gentlest formulas you will use as it is free from talc, fillers and fragrance. No it doesn't offer blurring technology but on the plus side it does not cling to dry areas nor will it settle into fine lines and/or enlarged pores. In my opinion it offers very little coverage but rather creates a breathable, soft matte finish that does help keep excess oil and in turn shine at bay.

Loose powders are not anything new and mostly likely something the vast majority of us own and use regularly. However brush on sunscreen is a fairly new concept for me; I have seen a few that where targeted for use on the body but very few for the face. As you may know SPF needs to be reapplied for full effectiveness but what about when you are out and about with a full face of make-up? Truthfully how many of us have the patience or the desire for that matter to remove make-up several times a day? The answer is none. None of us. Enter bareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder SPF25 not only can it be used as a setting powder but you can brush on any time you need to up your facial SPF. The good news is that okay the powder is a little messy but it does not have a tendency to cake meaning you can apply as often as you like. Utter genius. It is also very kind to the skin in terms of ingredients as it protects the skin against the sun's harmful rays (both UVA and UVB) without the need for chemicals. It really is something rather special.

  13. Hey Hey!

Just posting again as it appears something was playing up and my previous comment vanished. I've been using this for years and it's one of my holy grail products. Doesn't settle and makes me look flawless. Only downside is how it now smells!! Glad you've finally got it in your life!

  14. It's one of my favourite products to use after a BB (or CC) cream, in order to fix my makeup without a mat and "cakey" finish.
