When it comes to brow products it is more than fair to say I am wary. I like my brows to look as natural as possible which is easier said than done due to them being so light in colour. My main problem is that often the blonde or lightest option in brow products is too light yet the shade up is too harsh. I never as much as look at brown brow shades and yet Pixi Natural Brow Duo in Natural Brown may just be my best colour match to date, not to mention the flexibility of this product has me sold.
The Pixi Natural Brow Duo's come in three shades all of which feature a waxy, angled crayon at one end for definition along with a sheer yet tinted brow gel. As far as convenience goes you will not find a more travel friendlier product than the Pixi Natural Brow Duo's, in one compact pen you have all you need not only to shape and define but also to set the brows.
As I said above there is three shades to choose from within the Pixi Natural Brow Duo line up: Natural Brown (perfect for blondes and light brunettes), Deep Brunette (suitable for most brunettes and also auburn hair tones) and lastly Soft Black (for deep brunette and black hair tones). Natural Brown is a cool toned, almost grey tinged brown that will look natural on just about every blonde. It isn't worlds apart in tone from the likes of Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe. The shape and consistency of the Pixi Natural Brow Duo Pencil reminds me greatly of the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil - angled, sharp, firm and waxy. This style not only allows you to fill in the brows but to also draw in individual hairs should you wish. It is not the most pigmented pencil out there but I rather like that as I am someone who can easily over do my brows...hello Scouse brow. Unlike the majority of brow gels out there the Pixi Natural Brow Duo Gel is sheer, yes it is tinted but it will not overly tint the brows rather it works to compliment the colour of the pencil. The hold is soft, free from fibres but more than sufficient to prevent your brows from slipping, sliding or fading throughout the day even on the oiliest of complexions.
You can of course use each product on their own - the pencil is fairly wax based so it doesn't necessarily need setting; the gel would offer soft, subtle definition for those with full brows or for the warmer weather. At just over £10 the Pixi Natural Brow Duo's are a snip and perfect for those like myself who prefer a natural approach to brows - they are easy to use and almost impossible to over do it. I would also recommend them to all those new to shaping and filling their brows to as they are effortless and foolproof to use.

Thank you SO MUCH for this review Adrienne, this is exactly what I was looking for, ideal for travelling, one end has waxy consistency and the other is gel (would be perfect if it was clear but I guess you can't have everything ;) ). I'm gonna to pick it up soon! X

This sounds like something I'd be really interested in. My brows don't need a lot of extra colour, just a bit of tidying and definition. It's just a shame Pixi isn't available much on the high street, as it would be helpful to try them out to pick the right colour x

I love that it's a duo, I never seem to get the right shade if I find a pencil and an eyeshadow, etc. I've never used a brow mascara - like the idea of it though :) cottonandcandie xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks so great and I love that it has both the pencil and gel
