One of Illamasqua's latest launches are the new Precision Brow Gels; four new, creamy yet gel based tints for the brows that can be used to create striking, full brows or used sparsely for a more natural approach. I kid you not when I say once set the Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels are going no-where - not even rain, sweat or excess oil will allow this formulation to slip and slide. If you struggle finding a brow product that offers longevity, look no further...
As you can see the Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels come is small, screw top glass jars which have fairly large spouts allowing you to use which ever brush you fancy with ease - I used my finger tip for swatches. I'd imagine other than not being able to take them on board via carry on luggage they'd travel well as they are fairly robust. If you are a regular traveller you could easily decant a little into a plastic container.
The Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels come in four shades: Glimpse, Strike, Awe and Stare. I have Awe and Strike: Awe is the obvious choice for those with blonde, grey or light brown hair - a light, grey based taupe that is super natural due to the cool tone. As a blonde with really light brows I am forever concious of my brows - I don't like them to appear to heavy in shape or deep in tone, the more natural the better as far as I am concerned. Illamasqua Awe is one of the best, blonde brow shades I have come across in a long while. I also have Strike which has been created for brunettes - a deep, cool toned brown that should be universally flattering. The beauty of the Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels formulation is that you can lightly apply and blend out using a spoolie for a more saturated colour finish or you can apply with a heavier hand for a deeper colour finish,
If you are familiar with brow gels in general then application will be a breeze, otherwise this will take a little getting used to. The crème/gel texture of the Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels are more akin with a gel liner or even a cream eyeshadow, deciding the best way to use it on my brows resulted in some trial and error. A less is more approach is best taken with this product as it is so pigmented making it easy to over do it. I recommend wiping off any excess product from the brush (I do so in the inside of the gel's lid so I can reuse it at a later date) and then apply using small, quick strokes to mimic hair strands for a natural effect. Of course how you apply it is entirely up to you but one thing I think we will all agree on is its lasting power. I kid you not when I say that the Illamasqua Precision Brow Gels are an oily skinned gals (or guys) dream - one application truly will stay in place all day long. Sweat, oil and even rain will not budge your brows. I can apply this at 9am and come 9pm my brows still look freshly applied - no smudges, no flaking and no crispy finish. This is one of the few products that doesn't require to be set with a brow gel to ensure it will stay in place, once it sets it is going nowhere. It really is a brow revelation and the natural shades are a welcome addition to the beauty world and my make-up bag.
