Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks

A few days ago I was briefed on all that will be new at Illamasqua in the coming seasons. In my opinion one of the most exciting launches due to come our way is the Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks. Three chunky, gel based tubes of colour to add a flush of colour and sculpt the face quickly and with ease. I must state that I have not trailed the following products as of yet and that I do want to apologise for the iPhone photos but I figure they will be some what helpful as far as sneak peeks go!

The Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks come in small, black plastic tubes which feature a twist up mechanism. Yes the Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks are fairly chunky but they have been sized for convenience- one quick swipe is all you will need for each cheek and the same applied for contouring. The idea is that you either dab on and blend out or slick on in a clean swipe and again blend for a soft wash of colour. You can of course apply using a brush, sponge or however you see fit. When it comes to Illamasqua Gel Sculpt it is suggested that you apply to the outer contour of your pinky finger and palm, press into the hollow of the cheekbones and then blend out. Such area of the hand mimics the natural contour of such area of the face and is apparently the easiest way to apply such product.

The Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks look intense and dare I say it blindingly bright in the bullet form but rest assure once applied they are fairly sheer. The texture, is soft, silky and slightly silicone based so that that apply smoothly and help create the perfect canvas. Each product can be applied in layers to create a more intense wash of colour should you wish and I can see no reason why they can't be used as lip colours. The photographs don't really do the finish of the Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks much justice - they are completely matte, no sheen, no glitter and no shimmer. I haven't applied these to my face but I can imagine as far as the blushes go they will be brightening rather than flat. I will be entirely honest in saying that I am not entirely sold on the shade of Illamasqua Gel Sculpt as a contour - I find it to be a little too bronze/warm and would most likely use it warm my face rather than contour.

Charm (orange) - a bright, yellow based apricot or peach by any other name.
Fluster (pink) - a bright, candy pink with a blue undertone.
Silhouette (brown) - an adaptable brown.

The Illamasqua Gel Colours and Sculpt Sticks will launch in March and cost £22 each.
