I don't know about you but I have had enough of Winter, the cold and damp weather has outstayed its welcome and don't get me started on the lack of day light. All my photos have this horrid, blue tinge that has to be edited out - not cool. On the plus side I do get to wear lots of layers and a bobble hat that neatly disguises my roots ha! Anyway weather woes aside here is what I have been enjoying lately...
I've said it once and I'll say it again the only Benefit mascara I am mostly likely to ever get on board with is Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, a mascara especially created for small, short and flimsy eyelashes but is suit all. The velcro technology brush hooks on to eyelashes pulling them outwards and upwards. It may not overly curl my eyelashes but the separation and eye opening effect can not be beaten. I am a huge fan and fully recommend (if you can) picking up this month's Elle UK magazine and putting the sample to the test. If not this launches on the 1st of March.
The rest of my eye make-up has been fairly simple; a quick wash of MAC Paint Pot in Painterly (find it here - link) combined with Urban Decay eyeshadow in Stark applied all over the lid, followed by the shades Frisk and Primal blended into the crease for a little definition. All three shades can of course be found with the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette (find it here - link) which I can't seem to put down at the moment.
I am currently testing lots of new and new to me foundations so I can't say I currently have a favourite, I have however been favouring my Hourglass Lighting Blush Palette (find it here via Liberty - here) more so the blush shade Incandescent Light - a pretty peach that brightens the skin yet adds a healthy flush of colour. I am a huge Hourglass fan and yet I have not been tempted by there new eyeshadow palettes.
On my lips it has either been Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked (find it here via Debenhams -link) a pretty, muted, neutral pink come nude hue that suits every occasion as well as giving the illusion of plumper lips. If I haven't reached for that you can almost bet that I have been sporting MAC Brave Lipstick (find it here - link), a similar shade to Naked but a little deeper and more matte in finish.
I was clearing out last week and found my Ralph Lauren Big Pony Woman's Collection, four completely different scents. At the moment I have been reaching for
Ralph Lauren Big Pony in 3 which of course is the yellow bottle. Being an eau de toilette it is by far lighter than my winter fragrance choices, this bright, fruity floral is the perfect mood boaster and ideal for the upcoming Spring. You can find it here via Boots - link.
What have you been enjoying lately?
I have to say I'm really keen on trying something from Hourglass yet the eye shadow palettes do not appeal to me at all either. I don't like the way they look at all and when you're paying so much for something everything counts, including presentation.

the hourglass blush palette is incredible, easily one of the best things i bought last year. but i really don't get the hype about the eyeshadow palettes. the wavy pattern looks cool but i'd much prefer them if they were individual pans. the colours don't excite me much either xx
ReplyDeleteMAC Brave is a gorgeous shade. I love the Hourglass palettes too, they look amazing. The new eyeshadow palettes look lovely but I don't feel they'd be all that practical!

I like the sound of that Benefit mascara! I just recently got some Tarte mascara that I love, but it doesn't separate my lashes that well. I have 1 Hourglass blush that I LOVE, but I really want that palette!
