The Daily Beauty Report (14.01.15)

The Daily Beauty Report (14.01.15)

Here is what is happening within the beauty world at the moment...

A new Maybelline face! "American model Gigi Hadid has been announced as the new Spokesperson for cosmetics brand Maybelline New York, joining Christy Turlington, Adriana Lima, Jourdan Dunn, Emily DiDonato, Marloes Horst, Kemp Muhl, among others. At only 19, Gigi has been featured on the catwalks of Marc Jacobs, Giles, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jeremy Scott, and Chanel. She landed the cover of the fourth installment of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book, and the December 2014 cover of Harper’s Bazaar in Malaysia. Mentored by Carine Roitfeld, Gigi has sat for renowned photographers including Steven Meisel, Mario Sorrenti, Craig McDean, Bruce Weber, Gilles Bensimon, Sebastian Faena, and Ellen Von Unwerth. Gigi will make her Maybelline New York debut in advertising campaigns later this year."

Lots of new Gosh palettes to look forward to - "GOSH Cosmetics has announced the launch of its Eyelight Trio. The three-in-one eyeshadow compacts contain tonal shades in different finishes: an iridescent highlighter, a glitter eyeshadow and a satin textured shadow. Shades include: Three of a kind, Vanilla Sky, Chunky Chocolate (pictured above) and Fairytale."

If you are a fan of Givenchy fargarnces March is the month to look forward to - "Parfums Givenchy has announced the the launch of a new edition of its Ange ou Démon fragrance, Ange ou Démon Le Parfum & Accord Illicite. The woody floriental fragrance combines notes of musk and patchouli with leather and amber and takes a made-to-measure, layering approach when combined together with the included Accord Illicite. Ange ou Démon has been reinvented in a heavy bottle cut like a talisman with a 4ml bottle of Accord Illicite by its side, housed in a lacquered black glass."

New budget skin care launches from Tesco! "Skincare brand Pro Formula has announced the launch of two new skincare ranges to its already existing lines: Fresh Skin and Clear Skin. The Fresh Skin collection range is formulated with vitamin C, grapefruit and cranberry fruit extracts to refresh and energise skin. Scientifically formulated with the acne-busting ingredient salicylic acid, products are also proven to help prevent the recurrence of sports and imperfections. Fresh Skin comprises: Brightening Facial Wash, Face Scrub, Foaming Face Wash, Balancing Oil-free Moisturiser and Cleansing Wipes. The Clear Skin collection includes products to cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise and to help get rid of spots, including: Deep Cleansing Face Wash, Exfoliating Face Scrub, Soothing Spot Gel and Exfoliating Cleansing Wipes." This collection will launch later this month and cost between
£1.50-£2.99.

Coffee based hair care anyone? "Environmentally friendly haircare brand O'right has announced the UK launch of RECOFFEE, its new haircare line made of 100% recycled coffee grounds. The recycled coffee grounds are collected from cafés and convenience stores across Taiwan and each bottle contains a minimum of 98% natural ingredients and grounds from 16 cups of coffee. The caffeine content in RECOFFEE stimulates the hair shaft and helps it grow faster, by blocking the effects of DHT, a chemical known to damage hair follicles. As with all of O’right’s products, RECOFFEE is free from environ hormones, parabens, sulphates, phthalates, formaldehyde thickeners, colourants and EO derivatives. Additionally, the 250ml RECOFFEE shampoo bottle grows into a coffee tree when buried in soil, due to the natural, biodegradable composition of the packaging and the coffee seeds built into the base. Each bottle is also enriched with 100% RECOFFEE oil, extracted from the recycled grounds and leaves hair glossy without weighing it down. The current range includes Moisturising Shampoo, Volumising Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Oil."

As someone with problematic pores this is right up my alley! "Skincare brand Kiehl's has announced the launch of its Dermatologist Solutions Precision Lifting & Pore Tightening Concentrate (£49). The formula has been clinically demonstrated to visibly lift skin, help reshape the look of facial contours and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores. Combining highly refined micro-filtered yeast extract and geranium essential oil, the product improves the skin's overall 'bounce-back' quality and definition. The product is currently exclusively available in Selfridges prior to its nationwide launch." This will launch on the 9th of February.
