Max Factor Glam Jan Free Lipstick

January is a tough month on us all, not only is the weather bitterly cold but there is also a distinct lack of day light not to mention those dreaded bills! Apparently the 26th of January is one the most cumbersome days of Winter, so much so that the media dub it Blue Monday? To help shake off those blues Max Factor aim to turn Blue Monday into Red Tuesday with their iconic red lipstick - Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday.

As you may have noticed Marilyn Monroe (perhaps the most iconic Hollywood starlet ever) has been named the face of Max Factor to celebrate the brands 80th anniversary. I know such decision doesn't sit well with everyone but you have got to admit that very few have worn red lipstick quite like Marilyn Monroe. I have yet to find my perfect red or the confidence to wear such bold shade..one day.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday may not be my staple shade of lipstick but i can not fault the formula: soft, creamy and well pigmented. It glides onto the lips much like a gel texture, offering both hydration and colour - it doesn't cling to dry areas nor is it prone to bleeding making it the perfect cold weather choice. If you happen to be London or Manchester based on Blue Monday (26th of January 2015) you can pop along to either: London Liverpool Street Train Station or Manchester Piccadilly Station from 7.30am to pick up your free lipstick. Apparently there will be 2,000 free samples at each station so you have a great chance of nabbing one. I have been told it is a first come, first served policy (to be expected) and one per person. If you are out and about, near such train stations it certainly is a date worth jotting down!

For the sake of a full disclaimer, I was sent the lipstick and mascara seen in the above photos but not asked nor paid to write about the free lipstick promotion. I simply wanted to give anyone in such vicinity the chance to get a little something for nothing.
