As mentioned in a few posts now (I'm like a dog with a bone) I have complained about how a heavily formulated shampoo and conditioner range left my hair unmanageable - dried up, knotted and slightly sticky to the touch. It got so bad that I had to cut out knotted mats of hair which is far from ideal. In a bid to rescue my hair I decided that although I may loathe the scent of Lush Jason and the Argan Oil Shampoo Bar it could be the moisturising treat my hair was (and to an extent still is) screaming out for.
"On a quest for stronger, shinier, softer hair? Try this Argan oil-packed, Rose Jam-scented bar. Argan oil is combined with glycerine to give your hair touchable softness and lustrous shine. From this solid foundation restorative rose absolute and oil balances the scalp making this bar particularly perfect for setting fair hair ablaze with brightness and strength."Let's just get my gripe with the fragrance of this shampoo bar out of the way - personally I wouldn't count myself as someone who dislikes rose scents but my goodness this is strong (it reminds me a lot of Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel). So much so, that I really do not think I could bear whiffs of this on my hair all day long - luckily after rinsing this out of my hair, coupled with a coconut based conditioner it fades remarkably. You can not detect this any more so than a regular shampoo - water seems to really dilute the fragrance. Thank goodness!
As a blonde I am forever on the look out for something that will brighten my hair and help put a little moisture back in to my parched tresses and this nifty pink bar does just that. From the first wash my hair was quickly ridden of any residue/build up from other hair care products and yet not further stripped of moisture. As this is loaded with Argan Oil it effectively hydrates the hair without the need for artificial silicones meaning even the finest of hair types can use this and benefit, as it won't weigh the hair down nor will continued use result in product build up. My dried out hair really seems to lap up the formula and although this is not a toning shampoo my bleached hair did appear to be brighter and less brassy in tone from the first use which is never a bad thing!
If you have dried hair be it from the harsh Winter weather, bleach and/or heat damage this is the shampoo for you, just don't let the scent put you off!

I've not tried a shampoo bar before, but I'm really intrigued! xo
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know all of Lush shampoo bars (and many other products) are based on sulfates, so they potentially are dehydrating, but sometimes I can't resist the smell of their products and by something..
ReplyDeleteIm wondering if these would be good for cleaning make up brushes? you know swoosh around on the bar and then rinse?
ReplyDeleteI can't decide whether I love or hate Lush! Sometimes it just completely overwhelms me x
