Zoeva Smoky Eyeshadow Palette

The packaging of the Zoeva Smoky Eyeshadow Palette reminds me a lot of the  Stila Eyeshadow palettes - a slick, compact and cardboard packaging style. It is light in weight, fairly robust and ideal for travel in more ways than one - the weight and size of course contribute as does the vast shade variety on offer. I like that the pans of eyeshadow inside the palette are fairly large which always helps when using large, fluffy blending brushes.

As you can see the Zoeva Smoky Eyeshadow Palette is of course a fairly neutral eyeshadow palette with a few deeper shades in the mix. Much like yesterday's palette I like that there is muted eyeshadows combined with subtle pops of colour. Unlike the Mixed Metals palette there is a good selection of matte eyeshadows, the rest are highly pigmented, metallic offerings which makes the palette a little more diverse. As mentioned yesterday the textures of the metallic eyeshadows are finely milled resulting in a super soft, easy to apply and blend eyeshadow. There is next to no fall out, the colour pay off is intense and frankly beautiful, if teamed with a primer the wear time is on par with brands such as MAC et al - a good eight hours of true wear. The matte eyeshadows are no different - buttery soft, well pigmented, not at all chalky and a dream to apply and blend for that matter.

Here is a shade by shade run down:
Relive the Moon - a soft, creamy. matte ivory that is slightly warm in tone.
Sleep to Dream - a matte lilac tinged, mid tone grey.
Searching - very similar to the eyeshadow above only metallic in finish.
Sweet Smell - a matte, strongly yellow in undertone mid-brown, neutral in tone.
Dark Edge - a blackened, metallic, olive green.
Dust & Memories - a warm toned, matte, light chocolate brown reminds me a lot of MAC Soft Brown.
Smoky Wishes - a rich, slightly red toned, chocolate brown shade that is matte.
Elegant Chaos - a purple tinged deep brown, again matte.
Ashes Awake - a cool toned deep matte brown - almost black.
Real Light - matte true black.
