As my lips have been rather chapped I have been concentrating on my eye make-up for the last week or so to somewhat detract attention from the problem area. At the moment I have been enjoying a base of MAC Painterly Paint Pot which is probably my favourite cream eyeshadow ever. On top of that for a little definition I have been relying on Bourjois Smoky Stories Eyeshadow Quad in Over Rose which is surprisingly flattering. A quick slick of Bourjois Mega Liner in Ultra Black to create as close to a feline flick as I'll ever achieve coupled with a good few coats Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara in Ultra Black and I'm pretty much good to go.
Speaking of my lips I have been mostly relying on Blistex MedPlus Medicated Lip Balm. Cheap, cheerful and it more than does the job. A Winter staple for sure!
On my cheeks it has been a quick sweep of Essence Blush Up Blush in Heat Wave which if I am honest I have now fallen out of love with. At the start of the week I really liked it but as the days have passed I have grown tired of it. I am now on the look out for a more berry toned but natural blush. Suggestions more than welcomed.
As little as two years ago I would happily bake in the sun for a deep golden tan, I have a slightly olive complexion which means I do tan really easily. Cool but sun damage not so cool. The last few trips abroad I have opted to stop baking in the sun and slather on self tanner instead. Finding a natural looking self tanner is easier said than done but I am a huge fan of Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan BB in Medium Matte. The colour is perfect - not too deep but golden without a hint of orange. It is an instant tanner so no need to wait for it to develop and should you not like the colour it washes off. It isn't prone to transferring onto clothing. I am a huge fan.
Another week and another shout out to Burberry My Burberry Eau de Parfum, in short I am obsessed. Oddly this is a fairly light, white floral that has been inspired by London Rain - light and refreshing. It isn't typically something I would seek out as I am more of a deeper fragrance lover but my, my this has me hooked. Another fresh but festive aimed product I can't get enough of is Lush So White Shower Gel which is a light, refreshing apple based scent. I know it doesn't smell exactly like the bath bomb of the same name but a firm favourite in my household.
What have you been reaching for this week?
I really need to try the new Bourjois 1 Second Mascara - it sounds fab! xxx
