I can not believe that in exactly one month it will be Christmas. That is utter madness as it only seems like a few weeks ago I was mentally noting down my New Years resolutions which I would give up on a week in to 2014. Anyway as you may have noticed many a beauty brand has a "holiday" collection up their sleeve and Bourjois is no different with an array of new Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamels to choose from or collect.
Before I share a run down on each colour let's concentrate on the formulation first shall we? The concept is that Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel have been created to mimic that of a gel polish - a quick and easy to apply polish with a glossy finish, eliminating the need for a top coat. I will agree that they are super easy to apply - the fan shaped brush makes painting the nails a breeze, with minimal mess. Once dry (if you apply in thin coats it does dry quickly i.e less than a minute), there is a definite glossy finish but not quite on par with a gel polish. On the plus side they are much easier to remove, cheaper, come in a great variety of shades and not all that prone to chipping!
The three new shades I was kindly sent are:
Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel in 11 Rouge in Style - Every girl needs a great classic red polish within their collection. A bright, old school, glossy rouge toned polish that looks great on everyone and catches the eye of passer-bys and Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel in 11 Rouge in Style steps up to the plate. A beautiful, rich and somewhat festive red that is opaque in two coats and looks as pretty on the fingernails as it does the toes. One of the best budget friendly red nail polishes I have ever tested and a great dupe for Tom Ford Carnal Red Nail Lacquer.
Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamel in 44 Grey to Meet You - Grey nail polish can be fairly tricky to pull off in my opinion but this is as close to a suit all grey in the polish world you'll ever find. A muted yet deep and slightly green toned grey that is neutral in tone and is a great substitute for a black manicure. It is dramatic yet soft at the same time and one of the few polishes in which I own that are opaque after one coat.
Bourjois 1 Seconde Top Coat in Glitterizer - We all need a little glitter especially in the lead up to the festive season. If you are looking for a refined yet glittery top coat look no further than Bourjois 1 Seconde Top Coat in Glitterizer. A chunky, mix of silver triangle shaped glitter that looks great layered over any nail colour or of course worn on its own. For even glitter distribution I recommend dabbing on rather than applying in strokes.
You can find all of the above Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Enamels via Boots for £5.99 each - link.
