Next month sees the launch of 19 new lip liners from Bobbi Brown - Bobbi Brown Lip Pencils to give them their correct title. Some shades are new and others have been brought back by popular demand, all I know is that lip liner is on everyone lips at the moment both literally and figuratively speaking and this is one of the better formulas I have tried.
As you can see the Bobbi Brown Lip Pencils are slim, wooden and presented in typical Bobbi Brown fashion - all black everything. What you need to know is that they are slightly weighted to allow ease of application, easy to sharpen and of course being a pencil great for travel. The texture is firm yet creamy and more akin to lipstick than liner. By that I mean they are in no-way drying, glide on to the lips yet due to the firmness you can apply with precision. You can of course use the liners to line the lips to prevent your lipstick from bleeding or feathering (with 19 shades you are bound to find a match for your favourite lipstick), or of course use the Bobbi Brown Lip Pencil as an all over colour. I will admit that when used in such way, being a matte lip colour it is a little more drying but ultimately still one of the most moisturising lip liners I have tried. As a matte lip colour it does stay in place really well with my test run achieving a solid three hours of wear with ease - that included eating and drinking.
At £16 each the Bobbi Brown Lip Liners will be an investment for most therefore I highly recommend popping along to your nearest counter and selecting your shade, rather than blindly purchasing online. I was lucky enough to be sent two shades: Pale Mauve and Burnt Orange. Pale Mauve in my opinion will do well as it is quite similar to the shades that Kylie Jenner has been sporting (I'm sorry I will never take that overdrawing to the extreme technique seriously!). Pale Mauve is a cool tinged matte brown with pink undertones and not at all dissimilar to MAC Whirl Lip Liner. Bobbi Brown Burnt Orange is a deep orange which leans slightly pink and when applied can look red (Confusing? You betcha!). Off the top of my head I can't think of any outright dupes - sorry!
The Bobbi Brown Lip Pencils will launch in December and cost £16 each.
