I made a promise to myself that I would hold back on perfume reviews as I know not everyone enjoys them which is more than fine with me. However I am obsessed with My Burberry Eau de Parfum and I mean obsessed. It is a new addition and fairly new launch and one I really can't get enough off. If like myself you always thought of Burberry scents as a little naff and dated this is the one that will change your mind and maybe make you lust after a Burberry Trench Coat!
"Inspired by the trench coat and its heritage of British design and craftsmanship, My Burberry captures the fragrance of a London garden after the rain."
First of all just look at the My Burberry Eau de Parfum isn't it beautiful - very chic yet I feel close to what we know and recognise Burberry for without the need for the iconic print (flashbacks of Daniella Westbrook anyone?). This is one bottle you can display with pride that is for sure.
The fragrance itself is a fresh, bright almost aquatic floral - if you enjoyed the Jo Malone London Rain Collection (I personally wish it was a permanent collection) then this will be right up your street. Fresh, feminine yet makes a statement. My Burberry Eau de Parfum contains top notes of sweet pea and bergamot . At the heart there is geranium leaf, golden quince and freesia heart, on a base of rounded out with a patchouli, rain-tipped damask and centifolia roses. I personally don't enjoy rose fragrances as much as I used to so I was glad that the rose notes aren't all that detectable. Rather the notes fuse together to create a sweet floral composition that may remind you of a wet day in Spring. I realise that doesn't sound nearly half as appealing aloud as it did in my head. Despite being a lighter scent this packs a punch and is pretty noticeable when worn, it also lingers on the skin all day which I did not expect.
In a word? Sophisticated.
In more words? You need to test this out asap!
