No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighters

Now let me begin by saying I am a huge fan of Benefit's Watts Up Highlighter but at certain times my skin doesn't feel the same way, my reward for shimmering cheekbones can be a good few blemishes for my bother. What can I say my skin is a fickle mistress. While in Boots I noticed the No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighters and couldn't help but think they looked somewhat familiar to Benefit Watts Up only a little cheaper and in more shade options.

To look at the No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighters you would be forgiven for thinking they are another chubby lip pencil (I'd imagine Clinique will eventually launch Chubby Highlighters). Twist up, stubby, cream pencils that are a dream to apply and completely portable which is always a bonus. As you can see from my photos they are a little delicate (yep I've broken one already) so do be careful and don't whatever you do wind the product up to full capacity just to see what is inside. Well you can but don't blame me when it snaps off...you have been warned! Oh look at me being all strict.

At the moment the No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighters come in two shades: highlighter which is a soft pearlescent pink and the bronzing highlighter which is a light, slightly golden tan shade. I would liken the No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighter to Benefit Highbeam Highlighter in colour and No.7 Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlighter is more akin to Benefit's Watts Up Highlighter in colour. Do not let the bronzing description put you off - it is not orange or deep in colour and will look great on the vast majority of skin tones.

The No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighters are a cream based formula but they do glide on to the skin with such ease, cooling as they go that you'd be forgiven for assuming they are a gel. One quick swipe is all it takes, a little blending (I recommend using your fingers) and you have a subtle dose of radiance that gently catches the light. Having enlarged pores I am a little wary of all highlighting products but I can happily say that this does not settle into my pores, fine lines nor does it cling to dry areas of the skin. Rather it adds a little light and luminosity to the face with is utterly flattering. More importantly for me it does not cause my skin to break out.Despite being cream based my oily skin does not reduce the wear time of either shade, on average I can achieve 10 hours of wear with ease.
Half the price of a similar product yet you get more for your money? I think I know what I'd rather own.
