Newly launched is three new face and eye palettes from Barry M two of which are limited edition and one that is entirely exclusive to Superdrug. Oh and if you love neutrals you will be pleased to know that Barry M now have a second Natural Glow palette as well as two Autumn ready offerings...
As with all Barry M palettes the the three new launches come presented within cardboard casings. Some may say that this is not the most robust but truthfully I own all of previous Barry M palettes and have yet to experience any problems. My younger sister even carts one around in her swim bag (don't ask me why) and despite coming in contact with a soggy towel or two there has been next to no damage. Each palette comes with a mirror and two foam applicators. My only complaint with two of the new Barry M palettes is that they feature both cream and powder products - basically expect eyeshadow fall out in your cream product sooner rather than later.
Barry M Natural Glow Shadow and Primer Palette 2 £6.49 via ASOS (ships worldwide) - link
This palette features three matte shades and three shimmer based eyeshadows along with a yellow toned tan eyeshadow primer. The vast majority of the eyeshadows are cool toned, from left to right we have: a matte yellow based cream, a cool toned matte light grey, a warm cool toned light mauve, a light golden tan shimmer shade, a deep yet cool toned copper based mauve and a deep metallic purple tinged pewter. All of the shades are well pigmented but a little soft resulting in product fall out. As some one with oily skin the enclosed primer was next to no use, as the balm like texture is too silken for my skin texture. If you have a drier skin type then I think the primer could be just what you are looking for. I like that the yellow tone of the primer will even out the skin tone to a certain degree. On a more positive note the shades blend well, have a silky soft texture and with my regular primer wear for close to 7 hours before they begin to crease.
Barry M Super Chic Shadow and Primer Palette £6.49 Exclusive to Superdrug - link
My thoughts on the primer are exactly as above only this version is not tinted. Inside this palette you will find six very autumnal shades all of which are either shimmer or glitter based. From left to right we have: an off white hue that features thick glitter chunks, next a bright but beautiful turquoise green. There is also a blue tinged metallic grey, a shimmer based lemon shade and also a warm and red tinged copper finished off with a rich plum shadow. A very pretty selection of shades all of which are beautifully pigmented and a breeze to apply.
Barry M Starry Eyed Blush and Eyeshadow Palette £6.49 (limited edition) - link
I have saved my last palette until last - gone is the primer and in it's place a beautiful warm almost orange coral blush. The blush in the Barry M Starry Eyed Palette is not worlds apart in tone or finish to NARS Taj Mahal Blush - only much cheaper. The eyeshadows in this palette are rich in tone and simply beautiful. From left to right: a light yellow based tan matte eyeshadow (a great transitional shade), a rich metallic navy blue, a warm reddish matte brown, a cool toned golden brown, a deep chocolate matte brown and lastly a red based brown which could give MAC Cranberry a run for its money. All in all the pigmentation of the eyeshadows are good to excellent and well worth £6.49.

I've never worn Barry M shadows, but I really like the look of these palettes. They seem like good value for the amount of shades too.
ReplyDeleteI love the first pallette! Perfect for autumn I think. I love the look of the last one too but I'd be nervous about wearing dark eyeshadow - I think I need to practice. Fantastic prices though!
