I'm a little bogged down with the flu, so instead of rambling on with lots of small talk I'm just going to get straight into what I have been enjoying for the last seven days...

My go to base combination of the moment is a quick dollop of Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base mixed in with Clarins True Radiance Foundation. If you like dewy skin with great coverage this is the way to go - the foundation evens out my skin tone, covers any blemishes while the Chanel Le Blanc only adds to the already illuminating foundation. If like myself you have dull skin be it from a cold or not either or both of these products could just be what you need.

As my hair is nearly white blonde a lot of make-up no longer works for me and the last few days have been spent trying out different lip colours et al to see what suits my colouring. At the moment I find light nudes and peachy tones work best, one shade I have been really enjoying is NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Isola Bella, this is a nearly matte peachy come nude that has a slight 90's vibe yet won't leave most skin tones washed out. Try it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I hate myself each time I use By Terry Balme de Rose, I mean £38 for a lip balm! Ouch! Scrap that double ouch! However credit where credit is due this keeps my lips super soft, only a little is needed and is one of the few balms that once applied it does moisturise for hours on end. I do think this is one of the best lip balms in my stash but for the price I'd expect that.

So yeah my sense of smell is non-existent at the moment but I have been misting on Stella McCartney - Stella Eau de Parfum and will level and say that I have more than had my share of compliments on this scent. If you like rose based fragrances but want something that isn't powdery yet unusual this is for you. Yes it has a strong rose note but it is very sophisticated and not at all try hard.

I'm slowly coming around to become a nail polish gal and oddly enjoying painting my nails. However I am still fairly impatient when it comes to waiting on polish to dry and don't get me started on pale shades that require 10 coats to become opaque. No thank you. If you have yet to try out the Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polishes do it. Do it now. My current favourite shade is Nails Inc Mayfair Lane Gel Effect Nail Polish, it is a light milky yet dusky pastel pink. It dries quickly, settles to a high sheen finish and doesn't chip for days.
