Unbeknown to me this year marks the 20th anniversary of the cosmetic brand Stila, to celebrate such joyous occasion Stila have dipped into their archives and relaunched some old favourites in the form of blush duos and eyeshadow palettes. I was lucky enough to be sent two of the Stila Ice Cream Collection Eyeshadow Trios to test out...
As a nod to the brand's older style of packaging all of the Stila Ice Cream Collection products come in cute, round cardboard wheels which feature sweet little ice cream cones and striped designs. If you are a sucker for cutesy packaging this will reel you in. Although cardboard and paper in design they do feel robust and hold three sizeable shades of eyeshadow all of which have been selected to beautifully compliment one and other.
All in there are three Stila Ice Cream Collection Eyeshadow Trios to choose from: Mocha Chip (warm toned with neutrals), Neapolitan (cool toned with neutrals and a pink) and Rocky Road (cool toned, slightly purple based neutrals). I have been trying out Mocha Chip and Neapolitan both of which are very much up my alley when it comes to shade selection. Personally I deem Stila Mocha Chip to be a great, shimmery, everyday neutral palette and see Neapolitan as the day to night palette out the bunch. Obviously how you use and wear the palettes is up to you entirely. My personal favourite has to be the warm, shimmer-tastic Mocha Chip - it is like a condensed Urban Decay Naked palette and perfect for travel. Annoyingly the shade names in each trio are not named so I have no real idea if any of the trios feature permanent shades or not, sorry!
I utterly adore Stila's powder eyeshadow formulations and I am happy to report that the Stila Ice Cream Collection Eyeshadow Trios do not disappoint. Each shade is beautifully pigmented, a dream to apply and blend out, not prone to product fall out and with a primer stays crease free for over 8 hours. I do have to mention that the deepest shade in Neapolitan was a little chalky and does require the most blending out to make it wearable. Although the packaging is super sweet and dare I say it collectable the formulation's held within do not disappoint which at the end of the day is all I really care about. Now I simply must have the cheek duo's and urge you to snap up any piece you like quickly too as it is a limited edition collection.
You can find the Stila Ice Cream Collection Eyeshadow Trios via Feel Unique for £18 per palette - link.

these are really cute. Loving the packaging but I do think that they will look a little battered after a while. Regardless, the shades are lovely, I think I prefer the Neopolitan trio :)

I've always wondered if Stila was a good brand to use when it came to eye shadows? Is it worth it if so as good as such brands like Mac and Urban Decay?
