Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to not only meet Fred Letailleur (YSL's Make-up Artist for Northern Europe) and learn all about YSL's latest launches (and gain lots of tips too!) but have a few of the new products from YSL Fall Look 2014 Black Fetish Collection which has yet to launch. I was gifted a few products which I would love to share...
"As rock as a leather biker jacket, as fetish as a pair of black patent stilettos, Yves Saint Laurent Beaute introduces the Black Fetish make-up collection for Fall 2014."
First of all this collection is huge and includes a grey mascara which sounds scary but is so chic, new leather effect nail polishes, four new lipsticks and glosses as well as a leather adorned eyeshadow palette. I was lucky enough to be gifted said palette - YSL Couture Palette Collector Fetiche which is limited edition and rather sexy (yes I said it). From the leather outer to the five smoking shades inside I dare anyone not to covet this. It is one of the few palettes I own in which there isn't a shade within that I don't like or wouldn't use. YSL Couture Palette Collector Fetiche contains a bright copper gold shimmer based shade, a light bright gold which is again shimmer based. A deep matte brown with a purple undertone which contains golden glitter accents, a deep matte navy and lastly a deep teal shade which is metallic in finish. Nothing will sway me more into parting with cash than great pigmentation, I kid you not when I say that this has to be one of the best palettes I have come across in that aspect. There is not a weak shade out of the five on offer - each swatch is only one little swipe, the colour pay off is phenomenal. I do have to state that the texture is a little drier (I found this made the shadows adhere to my eyelids a little better) than I expected but oddly it doesn't produce an abundance of product fall out. I am beyond impressed. Yes it is pricey at £42 but the colour pay off will blow you away.
Loyal YSL fans will tell you the brand's lipsticks are to die for but matte is not a formulation that they roll out all that often. Well for YSL Fall Look 2014 Black Fetish Collection there is four new matte shades to choose from within YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mattes: Rose Perfecto, Fushsia Fetiche, Red Rythm and Nude Acoustic(£25 each). I have the uber bright pink that is Fushsia Fetiche. YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mattes Fushsia Fetiche isn't quite a neon pink rather it is a bright blue toned raspberry pink that does lean slightly red, I don't own anything identical but would imagine if you like MAC Girl About Town you will enjoy this too. As most of us will be only too aware more often than not matte lipsticks can be drying and generally uncomfortable to wear, well not the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mattes formulation. It glides on with ease and is beyond pigmented, it doesn't cling to dry areas nor does it have a tendency to bleed or feather. It isn't a flat matte, rather a modern matte that has a little life in the finish which is super important considering there is a few nudes within the collection. Once YSL Fall Look 2014 Black Fetish launches the other three shades within the YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mattes line up will be mine - that is how much I adore the formula.
YSL Fall Look 2014 Black Fetish Collection will launch exclusively at Harvey Nichols on the 16th of July and then become nationwide on the 30th of July.
