Weekly Favourites #41

Before I share the products I have been enjoying the last week or so, I just wanted to say that come 7pm tonight I will be having a huge blogsale. Now that is out of the way here are my favoured picks from last week...

Does anyone else feel that come each season they need to change their foundation, or every once and a while the foundation that once once your holy grain now sucks? Well this was me last Monday, for month (and I mean months) I swore by Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation and then all of a sudden it began to sit on my skin and generally look grim! At the moment my current favourite has to be Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation, it blends seamlessly into my skin, covers all imperfections and can survive the most hectic of days (I wore it travelling down to London on the train, ran all around London and come home time it was still matte!). I really am rather taken by the foundation at the moment, find it here - link.

Although I am really loyal to Max Factor's Facefinity All Day Primer I decided this week to switch things up and dusted off Illamasqua's Matte Veil and have to say it was a good call. At the moment my skin is a little dehydrated so it is producing excess oil - I like how this primer keeps my skin matte even in the balmiest of weather without further drying out my complexion. It adds moisture to the skin where needed yet will keep me shine free. I'm not sure how Illamasqua do it but it is a rather genius product! You can find Illamasqua Hydra Veil here - link.

I'm sorry to harp on about Rimmel Kate Moss Eyeshadow Stick in Rose Gold again but I honestly can not get enough of the colour or formula. I can quickly slick this over my eyelids, line my lower lash line, blend out with my ring finger and hey presto. The colour makes my eyes really pop and the formulation stays in place all day. I have been known to blend a little of Benefit's Hoola into my socket line for definition but really all I have been relying on all week long is this chubby eyeshadow stick. You really do need to try it out, find it here - link.

On my cheeks as I have been rather lazy it has been a case of a quick sweep of Becca's Mineral Blush in Flowerchild and I am good to go. This light pink come coral adds a little pinch of colour to my cheeks and although an illuminating formula I don't find that it settles into my pores. It brightens my skin, wears all day long and any blush that means I can skip highlighter if in a rush gets my vote. You can find it here - link.

My lips have been in a dire state, if I am worried or nervous I tend to chew on them subconsciously. I have been trying to minimise lipstick wear the last few days to allow them to heal and recover which has included a good coat of Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream or two. This isn't my favourite lip balm ever but the taste isn't all that wonderful so if I have it on my lips I am less prone to nibbling on them! Clever aren't I ha! Jokes aside this does nourish and hydrate any dry or irritated skin and it is one of the few products I do think every make-up bag should own. I have few tubes but tend to only carry around my teeny tiny sample pot! You can find it here - link.

Lastly I have been enjoying Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask, which I find does an amazing job at cooling and calming my stressed out skin. I tend to rely on this mask (well in the past my sister's stash) when I have been exposed to a lot of pollution. I find it helps to reduce inflammation as well as balancing my skin. It smells great and is one of the few Lush masks I would recommend to all skin types. You can find it here - link.
