By now you will most likely have heard all about the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks, a line of matte liquid lipsticks that took the beauty world by storm when they first launched. Well the brand have just launched two new shades here within UK and I can honestly say that they are my favourite colour options within the whole collection!
First of all kudos to Bourjois as the packaging is wonderful and looks much pricier than the £8.99 they retail for. Small colour co-ordinated lids to the lip colour inside that contain a doe foot applicator, which I'm not always the biggest fan of but in this instance it works wonderfully. The doe foot evenly and easily glides the balm like consistency of this lipstick over the lips for even coverage, with a mirror you could apply these with ease even on the bumpiest of commutes. I truly have no reason to fault the packaging of the new Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks.
The two new shades are 07 Nude-ist and 08 Grand Cru both are slightly deeper shades than what can be found within the existing range here in the UK. I am a little shocked that Bourjois have added another red hue - there are at least three other reds within the line up at last count. Oh well! So yes two new shades - a deep pink based nude that has a very 90's vibe and is the sort of shade we have recently began to associate with Kylie Jenner. The great thing about Nude-ist is that it is neutral and neither too light nor deep in tone so it should suit just about every complexion. Although I may not love red lipstick I have to admit that Bourjois Grand Cru is gorgeous - a deep, vampy wine red that has plenty of impact yet is very flattering. This is slightly cooler in tone but really does look great on just about everyone, you may not wear this now but come Autumn this could well be the perfect red for you and the season.
Can I just say that I adore the Bourjois Rogue Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick formula? Of course I can it is my blog ha! Yes it is matte but as I earlier mentioned it glides on like a balm and even when it has settled on the lips it does not feel heavy or drying in any way. Out of all the matte liquid lipsticks I own I would deem this to be the most moisturising and light weight. Once fully dry on the lips the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks do not budge, you can eat, drink, kiss, most likely even swim and your bright pout will stay put. Sometimes with matte liquid lipsticks they have a tendency to flake and wear off unevenly but this is not the case with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks. As a matter of a fact you will need a good eye and lip make-up remover to get rid of the colour! I kid you not when I say I experienced a good six hours of full wear from one application. If you like a great, long wearing but comfortable lipstick look no further.
