May 2014 Beauty Favourites

Half a year gone already, time sure does fly when your having fun.
I do feel more reinvigorated now Spring has finally erm sprung in Glasgow - lots of pretty blooms, more natural light and generally everyone seems uplifted. I'm holding out for a heat wave. Anyway before I become fully sidetracked let me share my favourite beauty items from the last four weeks. I warn you now there is a lot to get through...

First up we have Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent which is my go to Summer fragrance. I kid you not when I say it is sunshine in a bottle, I can almost smell the beach when wearing this. It is warm, coco-nutty yet citrus based and generally just a beautiful scent to wear everyday. If you haven't tried out you are missing out.

May was a month of matte lips for me, glosses stick in my hair and I'm not really a huge fan of having to continually reapply lipstick or what not when out and about. If I am not going anywhere special I will typically wear Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Eastend Snob - a muted and some what dusky pink that works well with my natural lip colour as well as several pink and nude lipsticks. Despite being a lip liner the formula is creamy enough to wear all over my lips. Although not a Kardashian or Jenner fan in the slightest I will admit that Kylie Jenner's lip choices as of late have been rather note worthy - think 90's matte pink toned browns if you have no idea who she is. I have heard she uses MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl but have my doubts. I find Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina to be very similar to what Kylie seems to be sporting. A matte pink nude come brown shade that is really flattering and wears all day. Every make-up bag needs a good bright lip shade and my current go to is the new Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquid in Surrender. This bright coral is almost neon and looks wonderful with a tan (albeit a fake on in my instance). Once set the Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquids are going nowhere - perfect for a night out!

My next three must haves are pretty predictable for me but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it! I can't stop gushing about Lush's Feeling Younger Skin Tint, this pearlescent cream is one of the best "liquid" highlighters I own. A little goes the longest way and it forever looks fresh on the skin. The great thing about this little pot is that it can be used with foundation, on top of foundation and as a primer. You need it. Speaking of products you need MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer is the be all and end all of under eye concealer in my book. Great coverage, easy to blend and doesn't crease even on the oiliest of skins. If you purchase one thing from MAC this month or indeed any time soon let it be this. My go to blush is of course Illamasqua's Tremble Blush - a bright almost coral pink that works well on both tanned and pale complexions. If you have blonde hair then I recommend this over any other pink toned blush out there and seldom use anything else these days when not testing out blushes. Yep the love for this shade is that strong!

No eyeshadows this month as I haven't been entirely loyal to one palette or combination for that matter but the two eye products I have using on an almost daily basis are: Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara and Bourjois Liner Feutre in Noir Moka. Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara has a funny brush but once you get to grips with it the end results are wonderful. Long, defined lashes that don't flake. Lancome L'Extreme Mascara (now discontinued) was my go to when in college and this has re-sparked my love for all things Lancome. If like myself you struggle with winged eye liner for any reason I recommend (and have been doing so to all that will listen) the Bourjoid Liner Feutre Liquid liners. A felt tip style liner that is so easy to use that you will kick yourself for not using it before. I tend to use the shade Noir Moka - a deep brown come black daily as I can't locally source a black one anywhere. If you fancy one of the black shades I do recommend purchasing online via Boots to save traipsing all over town.

So yes basically I love all the things this month.
Do you have any recommendations that I really should check out?
