YSL's Summer Look Collection for 2014 is not your typical Summer line up - the colours used are bolder and a little unexpected with a deep sea blue polish which I didn't think I'd enjoy half as much as I do. YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in 51 Bleu Cyclades has quickly become my go to nail polish for the last week or so and here is why...
YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in 51 Bleu Cyclades is a deep shimmering almost navy blue, imagine the sea at night and you won't go far wrong. It is one of those shades that no photograph can do justice - you simply have to see it in person. I'm sure it will draw comparisons to the likes of Chanel Le Vernis Blue Satin but it is marginally brighter - a nautical blue for Summer is perhaps the best way to pigeon hole this blue hue.
I have stated before that I am a fan of YSL's La Laque Nail Lacquer formulation, two quick drying coats and you have a beautiful highly glossy finish that does rival the effect you shell out big bucks to achieve at a nail bar. It is easy to apply due to the flat but wide brush that quickly coats the nails. Without a top coat I have experienced two days of wear and now I'm into my third day there is minimum tip wear. Although not cheap I would not hesitate to buy another YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer should the shade be special enough to warrant a purchase.
