Monthly Beauty Favourites April 2014

May already - jeeze Louise!
I'm so ready for milder days and of course the Summer but before I get a little ahead of myself let me share my current favourites for the last month or so...

With all the chat about sunshine soaked days you may be in the market for a great daily SPF and if that is indeed the case then may I suggest Clinique's Even Better Dark Spot Defense SPF 45, which has to be the lightest SPF in terms of texture I ever used. I absolutely loathe greasy or heavy SPF's not to mention anything that interferes with my make-up layered on top but will not sacrifice a high broadband coverage. Enter Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Defense SPF 45 - it is weightless, doesn't leave a white cast on the skin, brightens, doesn't leave my skin oily nor does it comprise any product layered on top. Basically every skin care routine needs this! Find it here via Debenhams - link.

While we are on the topic of base type products I simply have to gush about Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel which has swiftly become my go to primer. At £31 it is far from cheap but I rather enjoy that it brightens my skin, has a certain perfecting quality (it magically shrinks my pores) and of course adds radiance to my skin that I haven't been able to achieve up until now. I also rather like that it can be worn alone, under make-up, mixed in with make-up or as a highlighting product. I can see this being a long lasting love affair. Find it via Boots - link.

This month I have been mainly using The Balm's Nude'tude eyeshadow palette which contains a great assortment of neutral eyeshadows that easily take me from day to night. My only complaint is that the eyeshadow pans are really small so some of my larger blending brushes don't comfortably slot into the pans.
Other than that I can't complain - the shadows are well pigmented, buttery soft and a dream to not only apply and blend out. Find it here via Feel Unique - link.

Hands up if you knew I'd be gushing about By Terry's Cellularose Blush Glace in Flower Sorbet? Just about everyone huh? What can I say this gel come cream blush has a special place in my heart, it applies so easily, adds a healthy glow to my cheeks, is a beyond beautiful coral shade and wears well on my oily skin. Once the weather heats up this is all I will wear on my face teamed with huge sunglasses of course. If you fancy treating yourself to something a little special this month let it be this. I own more concealers than I do foundations, simply because I'm never all that satisfied and forever on the look out for the next best thing. One concealing kit that I can recommend is Soap and Glory's Kick Ass Concealer which contains two concealers - one for the under eye area and one for the rest of the face not to mention a setting powder. It is the setting powder that I am utterly loopy over - it is one of the few powders that doesn't cake on my troublesome under eye area. The concealers aren't half bad either - creamy in texture, easy to blend out and long wearing. You can find it via Boots - link.

My last favourite for the month of April has to be Jo Malone's Silk Blossom Cologne which is a beautiful light floral fragrance that is essentially Spring in a bottle. It is one of those fragrances that I mist on and find myself thinking "Who smells so good?"...oh yeah that would be me! It also doesn't hurt that the bottle has a jazzy tassel which entertains me to no end. Find it here via John Lewis - link.
