I am the hugest fan of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair and have went through more bottles than I care to count. As deep as that love runs I do wish that such serum offered a little more hydration which is where The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil enters.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil is an overnight serum come facial oil that has a very different texture from what I expected. I presumed it would either feel like an oil or a serum on the skin not both! Best described The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil has the lightness of a serum combined with a slightly oily but silken texture. In my experience it initially feels like a serum on the skin until you massage it into the skin and then it becomes more oil based. It is far from unpleasant and could be the stepping stone for those who can't quite get their heads around applying oil to their face...it took me a while to accept it as the norm too!
So what does The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil do exactly? In my opinion it is a highly hydrating facial serum which could be applied on its own or combined with a night cream depending on your skin type. I currently have combination skin and have been applying The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil to my entire face and following up with a little night cream on the dehydrated areas only so I don't overwhelm my skin. I will say that it quickly absorbs into the skin without leaving behind an oily residue and does leave the skin feeling soft and supple from the moment you apply.
The idea behind The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil is similar to that of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Serum is that they are both marketed as beauty sleep in a bottle. The Body Shop version contains high levels of Vitamin E as it is a powerful anti-inflammatory and can prevent the signs of premature ageing. It also contains The Body Shop's highest concentration of wheatgerm oil which is again a powerful anti-ageing ingredient as well as being renowned for its antioxidant properties. The end result is soft, fresh skin each morning and with continued use (I have been using this for two weeks) the complexion does benefit from a brightening effect as well as the skin being generally more hydrated.
I would recommend The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil to most skin types particularly dry as it is really nourishing. I also think it is great for young skin types who find the whole anti-ageing and skin care market confusing (I know I do). It is gentle, effective and won't break the bank. What more can you ask for?
Reading this review of the serum has made me want to buy it especially when I have complicated skin and this just seems like it wouldn't hurt to try it. I loved reading it, felt very sincere and awesome! I had a look through other posts of yours and I liked them alot! :) Actually me and my friends are new bloggers of similar type and have recently included this into our lives. We don't have many posts up, but if you wouldn't mind whenever you have free time to just have look, we would appreciate it a bunch !! :)
