The packaging of the Tarte Amazon Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundations is rather interesting unlike typical loose powders and foundations this has a net opening in place of a sifter. The opening has been sized so that the supplied kabuki brush fits in perfectly and in theory can minimise mess which loose powders can notoriously be. It is easy enough to use and I do like the natural feel that is portrayed by the packaging. Can I just say that I adore Tarte's brushes. Well I do and when I hit the states this Summer I will be stocking up as they are of such great quality. The Tarte kabuki brush that comes with this foundation is no exception - a small, stubby brush that is soft and really helps create a seamless and flawless base. I am so tempted to try this brush with a liquid foundation too.

Within the UK there is six shades of the Tarte Amazon Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation to choose from, I have Light Beige and Fair Honey. I find Light Beige to be an okay match for my currently NC30ish skin tone, it has a slightly pink undertone. Fair Honey is the lightest shade within the six options and in my opinion should suit the majority of rather fair skin tones - I liken it a little to your typical translucent tone. In the instance of both powders although tinted I find them to work with your skin tone. Obviously a pale shade would look ashen on a deep complexion but the formula does lend itself somewhat to your natural skin tone meaning that if you buff well into the skin you can get away with a shade or two too light or deep which in some cases this will be inevitable as there is no physical QVC stores for us to swatch the shades in person. Can you imagine how amazing a QVC department store would be? Excuse me while I day dream.

The texture of the Tarte Amazon Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation is odd, at first when applied to the skin (before you begin to buff it in) it feels heavy and did have me worrying for a moment. Once you begin swirling the kabuki brush all over your face the texture quickly changes and oddly feels cooling and almost liquid like. Bizarre but strangely enjoyable. I'm new to powder foundations so I'm still in that experimental stage - figuring out the best way to keep it in place with my oily skin. In my experience a good primer is key and if you have dry areas you are going to want to moisturise them before application as I fear this would cling to such patches. The coverage of Tarte Amazon Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation is full but not quite on par with a liquid foundation of the same category nor is it as easy to build up. I find this powder gives a very flat matte finish which I personally like but realise it is not for everyone. I like a really matte and full coverage base so I have been applying this over liquid foundation and the end result is flawless but again that won't be to everyone's taste. If you are a fan of Bare Minerals and foundations of that calibre I have no doubts that you will enjoy this and I will say that thanks to Tarte's love of Amazon Clay this has a longer wear time even on oily skin compared to any other powder foundation I have tested in the past. I experienced 8 hours of shine free wear.
