MAC Alluring Aqua Bronzers

It is not like me to show resistant when a new MAC collection rolls into town but as much as I like the slick, rain drop splattered packaging of the MAC Alluring Aqua offerings the actual colour scheme of the products didn't tick many boxes for me. I did have my eye on one of the lipsticks but by the time I clicked order it was sold out - sods law I guess, what I did purchase was two new bronzers. Overkill? Probably but the packaging make me weak in the knees...what's a girl to do?

So the packaging, oh the beautiful packaging - metallic aqua blue chrome finish outers complete with little water droplets which are raised and can be felt when you run your hands all over the casing (that comes across more seductive than I intended). I did for some unknown reason assume that the rain or water splatters would be squishy and liquid filled but that is not the case they are pretty firm, none the less it is pretty and innovative both of which I commend. The Alluring Aqua MAC Bronzing Powder is the only face product within this line that comes with a mirror as a heads up.

So yes two bronzers and annoyingly neither can be used as a contour but if you are looking to add a little warmth to your skin then look no further. First up we have MAC Extra Dimension Bronzer in Delphic which is a light toned golden based bronzer which a slightly ruddyness. Due to the formula which is essentially a gelee based texture which oddly feels like liquid when applied to the skin the overall finish is pretty sheer and should suit most light to medium skin tones. Admittedly I don't like that this is not a matte shade it has fairly noticeable glitter flecks which have a habit of collecting in my pores and highlighting what I deem to be a problem area. If I was to compare this to any product I would say it is somewhat similar to Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder, the colour is pretty similar and I guess it is great for adding a little warmth to your skin or as a warm toned bronze blush.

Next up we have the Alluring Aqua MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden which is a re-promote, MAC Golden is one of those shades that appears much more pigmented in the pan than it does on the skin. MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden is again quite ruddy in tone and almost leans orange in some lights. Unlike the above bronzer this is more of a standard bronzing powder and is fairly pigmented but can be blended out with ease. Again this is best suited to light to medium skin tones and is not matte, however this does not contain glitter particles but rather has a soft focus shimmer finish making it a little more suited as a contour option. MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden reminds me of Michael Kors Bronzer in Glow only a little more budget friendly. Out of the two shades this is bronzer I would recommend for paler skin tones.

Truthfully if I had seen both powders in store I would have bought neither never mind both, basically without the pretty packaging this collection is pretty bland and is a skip in my opinion. Sorry.
