Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base Review

Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base

Call it a whim, call it foolish late night shopping, call it what you want but at the end of the day my purchase of Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base was entirely unnecessary and born out of curiosity but no regrets. Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel is not a primer yet does just that, if you want longer wearing make-up, a dewy fresh complexion as well as minimising pores and fine lines look no further.

My only complaint about Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base is the packaging - yes it looks slick but what do you expect it is Chanel after all but aesthetics aside the practicability factor simply isn't there. No pump and a glass bottle - oh joy! I have heard that MAC pumps find inside the bottle spout but how true that is I simply can not comment. I tend to store my bottle upside down and cautiously remove the lid each time I use it - yes there has been some mishaps but it has been much easier than shaking the frosted glass bottle like a woman possessed!

As mentioned Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base is not a primer but an illuminating base, it is intended to be slicked on after your moisturiser, primer and SPF but before your foundation. You can also add it to liquid foundation to sheer out the coverage level and of course add a touch of luminosity. Personally I say skip the primer when using this as there really is no need - Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel seems to grip onto any make-up applied on top keeping it in place for hours. You've got to love a good multi-tasker. Along with priming qualities this sheer illuminating base adds a healthy, radiant glow to the skin without the need for shimmer particles and makes anything applied on top seem so much fresher than when worn alone. The formula is light and quickly absorbed into the skin, it doesn't cling to dry areas and oddly it gives a soft focus finish, smoothing out enlarged pores and fine lines without that horrid silicone sensation. If supermodel fresh, dewy skin is what you crave this is what you want to purchase next.

  1. My goodness you have made this sound tempting! I love dewy skin but is it bad to say that I would buy it just for a decoration for my bathroom? :)
