Chanel Holiday Les Vernis Nail Colour

By now you will most likely be very aware that not all Chanel Nail Colours have been created equally, some are brilliant (Chanel Black Satin is the one black polish everyone should own) others are awful (Chanel Rouge Noir namely) and others sit comfortably in the middle ground much like today's offering. Oh Chanel Holiday Les Vernis Nail Colour how I wish you were better...

Let's ignore the fact that I am suckered in each and every time by the packaging of the Chanel polishes and concentrate on the shade shall we? Chanel Holiday is a bright but not in any sense neon orange, it leans slightly red and is as close to a true orange as you will find in any nail polish collection. I imagine that this shade has been created with summer in mind and I do think it would work really well with a tan. I don't own any out right dupes as my polish collection is really small ( less than 10 shades) but I'd imagine Rimmel London would be your best bet or maybe even Topshop Nails?

Although fairly pricey at £18 per bottle I have to be truthful and say that I don't find Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colours to be anything special in terms of formulation, you are mainly paying for the Chanel tag and in some instances a unique colour. Now don't get me wrong Chanel Hoilday is fully opaque with a high glossy finish in three coats which dry quickly enough but without a top coat you will experience chipping within the first 24 hours. I'm not for one moment stating that it is a terrible formulation but it is far removed from the best so unless you can't live without the shade I'd skip.
