Joan Collins Beauty Eyeshadow Quads

I didn't think I would be a fan of the Joan Collins Beauty line as in my mind it was aimed at a more mature woman than myself. It most likely is but I do have to rave about the newly released Joan Collins Beauty Eyeshadow Quads as frankly they are so well designed not to mention good quality.

I won't pretend that I know too much about the Joan Collins Beauty range because I don't - from what I have garnered it is a collective that is aimed at women of all ages and have created to be both glamorous and affordable. I think we have to be realistic and say that I doubt teenagers or those like myself in their twenties watch QVC but I know my grandmother does so my guess is that is the real target audience. However like I said above please don't let that put you off as I have nothing but love for the eyeshadow quads.

Dinky yet well sized golden palettes that in some sense remind me of Elizabeth Arden's packaging style - glamorous in an old school sense and with an expensive feel which is partly due to the somewhat weighted palette. Basically everything about the range is luxe and who doesn't love a little luxury every now and then? I was lucky enough to be sent two of the new eyeshadow palette each of which comes with an eyeliner (I don't have those to comment). At the moment there is two colour ways to choose from Misty Blacks and Silver as well as Moody Browns and Gold. Both palettes contain four shades three of which are matte and one which is metallic/shimmer based in formula. I appreciate that Joan Collins Beauty have went for a higher matte ratio as the finish is much more flattering and forgiving than a glitter laden hue. I do however appreciate that there is a shimmer shade for highlighting needs. Basically the formulas have been well thought out as have the shades as the really compliment one and other beautifully. In my mind  Misty Blacks and Silver is the obvious evening choice and Moody Browns and Gold is perfect for day wear.

The matte shades within the Joan Collins Eyeshadow qualities are nothing short of wonderful - a soft, smooth textured eyeshadow that is a joy to apply and blend. I will state that the lighter shades are a little less pigmented than the darker hues but they are not at all chalky. The pewter silver within the Misty Blacks and Silver palette offers fantastic colour pay off and is metallic rather than being shimmer based. The gold within the Moody Brows and Gold palette is the weakest shade overall - it offers very little pigmentation and is glitter based which I am not a fan of. Teamed with a primer you will easily get 10 hours of wear from all eight shadows so no complaints there.

If you are looking for great matte eyeshadows then look no further...
