Illamasqua Glamore Collection

Yesterday a new and exciting collection launched - Illamasqua Glamore a collection that takes on old school glamour (hence the name) and brings it bang up to date with bright yet classic lip colours and a new glitter nail polish formulation.

I was lucky enough to be sent two of the new Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick (£16.50) shades which may seem a little more tame compared to some Illamasqua collections but it has been reported that the brand has taken customer feedback on board in order to the people what they want. This is along with many other things is the reason I adore Illamasqua - they are very much a people brand, from blogger collections to amazing service at a counter the customer is king. The two shades I have are: Soaked - a bright orange come red hue that gives MAC Lady Danger a run for its money and Luster - a shocking pink with a cool blue undertone that reminds me of a slightly less neon version of MAC Candy Yum Yum. Being Illamasqua offerings these lipsticks are beyond pigmented and actually a formulation first for the brand. They are much more creamier in texture meaning they glide onto the lips, feel more moisturising don't cling to dry areas and have a slight sheen finish. I really hope they continue with the Glamore formula and create a few nude shades...a girl can only dream.

Next up we have another first for the brand Illamasqua's Shattered Star Nail Varnish (£15) which comes in three shades and apparently have been created to fill a market void - grown up glitter. In my opinion they remind me a little of those textured polishes that were all the range last year. They dry to an almost gritty, sand matte finish. Each shade features both tiny flecks of glitter and larger chunks for a multi faceted finish. Marquuise is a bright orange, red with golden copper glitter accents and is the perfect partner to the Soaked lipstick and Fire Rose a pale, silvery pink with silver glitter flecks. Both shades required two coats to become opaque and dried relativity quickly.
