Estee Lauder is a brand that as a youngster I associated with my Grandmother but in the recent years I have found myself frequenting the counter rather often and with the launch of the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks it is little wonder why!
The packaging of the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks is nothing short of sheer indulgence - a sleek, glossy navy outer case with bright golden accents. Adding to the luxury is the magnetic cap with of course ensures the lipstick lid is always secure but lets face it oodles of fun to play with! For ease of application the Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks have a somewhat curved bullet so that it hugs the lips and also minimises the risk of the shade bleeding.
With 21 shades (Insolent Plum is an online exclusive) you really are spoiled for choice in terms of colour. Having played around with the entire range I have to say that the nudes really are in a league of their own - creamy and not a hint of a concealer, deathly pale shade in sight. If nudes aren't your thing there will undoubtedly be at least one shade you will enjoy from plums to reds and all that is in-between. I have Envious which is your classic true red which has a slight blue undertone to give the optical illusion of whiter teeth. I was also gifted Potent which is easily one of my favourite lipstick shades ever - a light creamy pinky peach which is a dead ringer for Tom Ford's Spanish Pink. Both shades have a slightly glossy but crème based finish, some what akin with MAC's Cremesheen lipsticks in that aspect.
When was the last time a lipstick formulation blew you away? I'm not talking about the colour of the lipstick but the texture and colour pay off? As someone who is forever testing lip products let me tell you it doesn't happen all that often but Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks has knocked me for six. A buttery soft almost balm like texture that glides onto the lips quickly and evenly coating the lips in full opaque coverage. The sculpting element means that the formula somewhat pumps the lips without that irritating tingle sensation and also eliminates the need for lip liner. Despite the super hydrating and creamy texture the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks are not prone to bleeding, feathering nor will they cling to dry areas. Typically speaking moisturising lip products be they a lipstick or balm don't wear all that well on my lips but I can vouch that the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formulation stays put for at least three hours even surviving the odd nibble and sip of tea. It's safe to say I'm enamoured and although not cheap at £24 a pop I do recommend finding a signature shade, your lips will thank you for it!
