Essie Resort Collection 2014

I'm not a huge nail polish consumer, for me a polish really to earn its place in my stash and as I am so fickle I do tend to purchase mini bottles when possible. Oddly for as long as I have been blogging (three years this month) I have bought each Essie Resort Collection and it is the line up I look forward to the most in terms of nail polish.

Essie Resort Collection 2014

Essie Resort Collection 2014 is medley of two pastel hues, a bright sunny coral and deep indigo blue. Obviously the idea with any resort collection, well within the fashion world at least is to provide a selection of fitting products that will suit any occasion when on holiday/cruising and I feel Essie have nailed it (pun fully intended) this year. You have an icy almost white tinged baby blue in Find Me an Oasis which will look wonderful teamed with any pastel or floral outfit, a light suit all neutral in Cocktails and Coconuts, a bright punchy coral to brighten up any dull day in Resort Fling and lastly a deep, vampy, evening ready shade that is Under the Twilight. Who could ask for more?

Rather wonderfully there is only one fickle polish out of the four shades of Essie Resort 2014 - Resort Fling and that is oddly the title shade. Essie Resort Fling in the bottle appears to be an orange toned coral crème that could well be opaque in one or two coats. Sadly that is not the case it is a little watery and does require around three or four coats for full coverage, you can of course remedy that with a white base coat but the formula is a little lack lustre none the less. Find Me an Oasis and Cocktails and Coconuts are two coaters, each has a crème finish and are fairly quick drying. Although not my favourite in terms of colour Under the Twilight is outstanding in terms of formulation - a thick, almost rubber like consistency that is opaque in one coat and dries in record time. More of this formula please Essie!

You can now find Essie Resort Collection in selected salons (maybe even Boots and Superdrug but I have not seen them in-store or online as of yet) or purchase the mini set via Amazon for £14.95 - link
