It has taken me forever and a day to finally get my mitts on Sleek MakeUp Blush in Rose Gold as it is always sold out in my local Superdrug store. However about a fortnight ago the make-up gods smiled in my favour and I was able to snag the last Sleek MakeUp Blush in Rose Gold. Hallelujah.
Generally speaking the packaging of all Sleek MakeUp Blushes and eyeshadow palettes is nothing to write home about - matte black plastic casing with a good quality and somewhat large mirror. What I do like about Sleek MakeUp Blushes is how compact they are (despite holding 8g of product) making them great for travel and everyday use.
There is countless shades of blushes offered by Sleek MakeUp some limited edition others permanent but no other hue is quite coveted like Rose Gold and I can see why. A beautiful coral pink shade that is laced with a bright golden yellow nuance making it universally flattering - I have not seen a post on this blush in which it didn't suit the wearer. In the past Rose Gold was hailed as being a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush and from what I have gathered Sleek MakeUp somewhere along the line in the last year or so reformulated this shade meaning it no longer is the case. Now don't get me wrong it is still somewhat similar but I would say that Orgasm leans more pink and contains a lesser golden tinge but they are not worlds apart.
The NARS comparrison doesn't stop there, I often said in the past that when it comes to blushes NARS are almost impossible to beat and I do still stand by that stance. However the Sleek MakeUp formulation is not far behind - a firm yet soft texture that is beyond pigmented but easy to blend out and offers wonderful wear time (around 9 hours with primer on my skin). Rose Gold contains no glitter making it ideal for skin types with enlarged pores and fine lines - it illuminates yet is flattering which is pretty hard to find in the blush world.
