Pixi Beauty Spring 2014

Launching soon is Pixi Beauty S/S 14 which is jam packed with bright yet wearable hues to see you through the hopefully sun soaked months with ease.

Three new mineral palettes will be available soon within the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette (£12 each) range: the shades are: Copper Peach, Emerald Gold and Plum Quartz. I have the latter which contains six soft yet highly pigmented shadows that can be used both dry and wet depending on the level of colour pay of you require. I found the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz to be the perfect day to night palette as it offers both neutral shades coupled with deeper hues that could offer a little drama come night fall. The formulation of all six shades is soft as mentioned above but easy to blend out and coupled with a primer I find the eyeshadows to wear for up to eight hours without creasing.

It seems all good things come in threes today as Pixi will also be launching three new nail colours (£8 each) two of which are bright in your face neons coupled with a soft shimmering pistachio green which will be wonderful for the Spring. The three new Pixi nail colours are: Sizzingly Sunshine a bright almost neon banana yellow that will sizzle with a tan come the summer months, Lime Lustre a muted green shade that has a pearlescent finish, in my eyes this is the perfect Tinkerbell green and lastly Oh So Orange which is the brightest neon orange polish I have ever owned! All three polishes are opaque in two coats, apply with ease and dry fairly quickly. All in all a huge thumbs up from me.

Lastly and probably the item that I am most excited about is the launch of the new Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms which come in six shades - five tinted, one clear and cost £8 each. The concept is the balms aim to be truly nourishing thanks to the blend of shea butter and vitamin E. I can vouch that they feel lighter than air on the lips yet hydrate instantly. I particularly like the tinted versions as they are essentially supped up versions of the Revlon Lip Butters - a silky soft formula with a good level of pigmentation. The two shades I have been trying out are Honey Nectar - a light suit all nude and Ripe Raspberry a bright red tinged pink that reminds me of MAC Girl About Town in some aspects. I can't wait for the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms so I can purchase the coral shade, if you try one thing from Pixi S/S 14 let it be one of these balms.
