New Revlon Colorburst Balms

A few weeks ago two new versions of the already existing Revlon Colorburst Balms launched: Matte for those who prefer a full coverage lip colour and lacquer for a glossy finish. With twenty new shades between the two new formulas it wasn't difficult to walk away with a few...

The packaging is what you have come to expect from any chubby lip crayon offer - chunky with a screw up mechanical base that is easy to use even on the go. The original Revlon Colourburst balms come with a glossy outer, the matte come in a matte style case and the Lacquers come in a chrome finish to make it easier to differentiate for the three formulas. Very clever.

At the moment I am enjoying the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms as unlike other matte lip colourants they don't feel drying or heavy on my lips rather they are light, glide on to the lips like a balm should and wear really well - around four hours even with drinking and eating. For a matte offering they don't have a tendency to cling to dry patches and generally are a revelation for those who want a matte lip colour but don't want dried out lips. The two shades that I purchased are Shameless - a deep true purple that could give MAC Heroine a run for it's money, and Complex - a light slighty orange based nude which in some instances may give the lips that dreaded concealer/corpse effect. Sexy.

If you prefer a sheerer and perhaps glossy finish I recommend purchasing the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms - a light, easy to apply glossy yet non-sticky lip colour. No they aren't as pigmented as the matte version but I wouldn't say they lacked in colour pay off either. As mentioned the offer both a doze of colour and gloss in one quick step without leaving behind a sticky sensation but the wear time is slightly reduced - at around 2 hours per application. The two shades I purchased are: Tease - a light orange tinged red and Ingenue - a light brown tinged nude.

You can purchase the Revlon Colorburst Balms for £7.99 (currently 3 for 2) each via Boots - link
