L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks touched down in the States late 2013 and I have eagerly awaited their UK launch. Well wait no more as L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks will be stocked in the usual haunts (Boots, Superdrug etc) as of this month. My local Boots currently has them on display yet a larger store in town doesn't so it is worth calling ahead to avoid disappointment.
The packaging of the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks is rather different from any other lip product I own be it a gloss or a lipstick. The golden chrome finish is slick, well made and does look pricier than its £8.99 price tag. The wand to apply the liquid lipstick is a large flat yet rounded softer than soft doe foot applicator. It works well with the natural curve is easy to use and spreads the lipstick with minimual fuss. A thumbs up from me.
I was lucky enough to receive a few of L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks today but already owned one (Nude Ballet so I have a duplicate) so I have been able to test the formula ahead of time. L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks have been created for comfort and contain Argan Oil (as an antioxidant), Lotus Flower Oil (to soothe the lips), Camelia Seed Oil (in the majority of lipstick formulas as it is hydrating) and Rose Canina Fruit Oil (to support the skin barrier). The three shades I have are: Nude Ballet - a light Carmel toned nude, Fuchsia Drama - a bright blue toned pink and Rouge Soprano - a bright yet somewhat sheer true red.
On the lips the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire formula is instantly hydrating, comfortable but a little thick and heavy in texture. I wouldn't call them weightless as I am very aware when I have it on my lips, more so than a typical lipstick. The finish is very glossy but without the stickiness and the pigmentation is nothing short of wonderful with Rouge Soprano being the exception. You can layer the formula on for a more opaque finish but I do warn that due to the thick texture they have a tendency to bleed out with the lip line. I do feel that I should mention that the product has a strong almost passionfruit fragrance which I like but it won't be to everyone's taste. In terms of wear over the weekend I achieved a little over two hours per application when testing out Nude Ballet which is what I expected. In my eyes the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks are so pigmented, non-sticky glosses that won't replace your go to lipstick but are outstanding dupes for the YSL Glossy Stains but with more colour pay off.
Look out for the L'Oreal Color Riche L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks hitting your local couter
