The Body Shop Spring 2014 Hair Chalks

This Spring there truly is something for everyone at The Body Shop, be it funky hair chalks, pretty new Shimmer Cubes or a hint of a tint in the form of sweetly flavoured lip glosses.

Let's begin with The Body Shop's new Hair Chalks, two shades Tickle Me Pink and Falling for Blue. The concept is that the pink is for lighter hair tones and the blue is for those with darker hair however in my experience they do show up well on both and at £5 each they are well priced. To use you rub the chalk over the area of hair you wish it to be seen, brush through and set with hair spray - it really is as easy as that. To remove from the hair you simply wash out - those with rather light or porous hair may need to wash their hair more than once to remove staining. I think they are a great and easy way to experiment with hair colour without any commitment and would deem them to be a festival must have...not that Summer is anywhere near approaching.

To coincide with the new hair chalks The Body Shop will also be launching two new sets of their ever loved Shimmer Cubes (£16 each) - one neutral come bronze line up (shimmer cube palette 30) which going by my press release was intended for brunettes along with the blue hair chalk and a pretty pink quad (shimmer cube palette 26) which they are aiming at blondes. You can of course pick whatever palette you wish - I'm blonde and the neutral set is what I'd walk away with. You will be happy to know that both sets offer great pigmentation with a silky soft formula that is a dream to apply.  You can also apply the Shimmer Cubes wet for a more intense foil finish or as an eye liner. Typically speaking without a primer on my oily lids I can achieve 5 hours of wear without it creasing, with it is closer to the ten hour mark. The only downside to both quads is that there is no variation in formula - all 8 shades are metallic which don't get me wrong is great but it can be limiting when creating looks.

Lastly we have two scented and very lightly tinted lip glosses - truthfully no colour what so ever deposits on my lips when I apply these but they do offer a lightweight, non-sticky glossy finish coupled with a sweet scent. In my eyes The Body Shop Lipglosses (£7 each) are wonderful for layering over any other lip product to add a little sheen or for those who don't like a lot of colour on their lips. The two new scents are Rose which is really delicate for a rose fragrance and Vanilla which is really sweet and more of a cupcake type vanilla. Yum.

I have no launch dates but they will go online and into The Body Shop very soon.
