I have a small medley of skin oils and serums that all have their place on my bed side table for various reasons. Here are my picks and why...
The Do It All - Clarins Double Serum
Clarins Double Serum is composed of two compounds : Hydric and Lipidic, one being oil and one being water, unlike a typical serum this has an oily texture and is more akin in sensation with a facial oil than serum.
This not only hydrates my skin but evens out my complexion as well as revealing brighter skin that is even in texture and free of any dry areas. I am also accrediting this for the reduction of oil on my forehead. I don't recommend this for really young skins i.e teens but if like me you are in your mid twenties and older on the look out for a a do it all product (it even has anti-ageing benefits) Clarins Double Serum is the one for you.
The Staple - Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair has been upgraded of sorts all the qualities you know and love are still present only amplified. The texture of the serum remains the same - a light, silken liquid with a non-greasy feel that helps to brighten the skin, restore and of course hydrate with the added benefit of skin repair when used for a prolonged period. The older formula tended to sit on top of my skin rather than soak in but I can vouch that this does the polar opposite and instantly absorbs into the skin. Yes this an anti-ageing product but as someone in her twenties I can vouch that it does so much more than that, it brightens the skin, soothes and generally lives up to the great nights sleep in a bottle claim. If you want to awaken to radiant skin while helping to protect your complexion in the long run against both environmental damage and the ravages of age this little serum should be next on your hit list. To try it is to love it. Find it via Debenhams from £48 - link.
The Winter Must Have - Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil
Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil will not only leave your skin feeling soft, rejuvenated, glowing and refreshed in one quick step but due to all the wonderful Omega oils it acts as a great anti-inflammatory - quickly ridding weather beaten skin of redness as well as boost collagen and protecting the skin against environmental damage. It's light, quick to absorb, a little goes a long, long way and dusted out each winter! I should also mention that if you use this religiously (even if it is just at night) it will quickly rebalance the skin making it perfect for oily skin types. Find it via Space.NK for £58 - link.
The One Ingredient Wonder - Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil
Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil is unlike any other oil I have used to date, first of all it contains only one ingredient which should agree with even the most sensitive of skins can get on board with as well as the most concerning of shoppers. Secondly it is so light that it instantly and I mean instantly absorbs into the skin. How many facial oils can you say truly let you apply make-up straight after? Yep next to none and yet Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil allows you to do so with no slip or slide just the perfect dose of hydration for your skin. As many will know I have oily skin that doesn't require a lot of moisture and my sister has rather dry skin and we have both used this and can happily report that it works equally well for both skin concerns. In my experience it hydrates without overwhelming or clogging the pores, it smooths, soothes and brightens and others have reported that it has faded age spots. Not bad for one ingredient huh?
Find it via A Beautiful World for £22 - link.
The Blemish Buster - Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil
As you can see my Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil is very much loved, yes this is aimed at oily skin but in my opinion this is the perfect alternative to a moisturiser for blemish prone skin. Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil is a natural astringent so it helps banish blemishes, hydrates, soothes and calms the skin with next to no effort and won't upset even the most sensitive of skins. I own a bottle of each variation of Clarins Treatment Oils (one for dry skin, one for oily skin and one for dehydrated skin types) and by far this is my favourite. Find Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil via Boots £30 - link.

ReplyDeleteIf you have a chance, try out organic cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil- it's the purest kind (only one ingredient) and it's amazing for even oily skin. Highly recommend it and I've blogged about it a few times :-)
