Weekly Favourites #12

Some weeks everything runs smoothly and things just fall into place, the week past sadly was not one of those. On the plus side despite a rather wet week my make-up went well thanks to few newly found staple products which I will share now...

Weekly Favourites #12

It was a NARS love in this week and my top two products have to be NARS Tinted Moisturiser and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Now I'm not normally one to sing the praises of a tinted moisturiser but the NARS version is out of this world. I first bought a bottle back in the Summer but quickly outgrew the shade or should that I became too pale and didn't get much use out of it. Fast forward a few months and thanks to a paler shade (Medium 1 if you are interested) I couldn't be more satisfied. NARS tinted moisturiser feels like you are wearing nothing at all on your skin and yet it covers most minor imperfections including acne scarring, leaves the skin looking dewy and forever natural. I like to team it with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for a little extra coverage for stubborn blemishes and of course under eye circles.
This duo is my dream team and I will of course review in full but if you are near a NARS counter any time soon check them out.

Another base product of sorts that I have used all week long is Ben Nye's Neutral Set Powder which is a finely milled loose white powder which isn't a HD powder so you don't have to worry about flashback but it will suit all skin tones. I like to pat this on with a powder puff which seems to be the best method for my oily skin and I know I will be matte for at least 6 hours, for me that is nothing short of a miracle.

Unsurprisingly the Hourglass Ambient Powder Palette has been on daily rotation partly to justify the splurge and simply because it is beautiful and at the moment in terms of highlighters nothing can quite beat it. Yes the palette has three shades but my most used shade by far has to be the middle and limited edition shade that is Incandescent Light. This gives a light and subtle glow not to mention a little extra dimension which is often needed on an all matte base. If you have space on your Christmas wish list pop this palette on there.

I haven't really bothered with eyeshadow this week purely because I am so impressed by Magnetic Lash this literally is like having eyelash extensions in a bottle and haven't really felt the need for much else eye make-up. Yes it is a fibre based duo but it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and is one of the few formulas that does not smudge or flake which is often the issues that plague me. The Magnetic Lash duo adds both volume and length to my eyelashes as well as a soft curl. The results are mind blowing and I will pop up a full review with before and after images this week.
Until then you can find the Magnetic Lash duo here - link.

I'm toying with the idea of going back to brunette and a full fringe too mainly as the roots are a nightmare as is finding a decent brow powder for light hair. If that is a problem you share with me then you may want to try the Beautiful Brows Kit in Light Brown which is a cool toned, natural ash based brown that gives light brows definition without looking harsh. The kit comes with a highlighter, brushes, tweezers and stencils not to mention it is completely refillable which is kind on the pocket and environment.
