Sunday's are for relaxing and preparing for the week ahead or simply pretending that Monday is not on the horizon which ever you prefer. For me nothing helps me to unwind quite like a good candle or three and for lazy Sunday afternoon's my current go to scent is Arran Aromatics Velvet Isle.
"Vibrant summer sunsets are reflected in this sensuous warm fragrance; a silky experience which envelopes you in an embrace of luscious, ripe honeyed fruit, crowned with the velvety green of fresh crushed leaf and finished with the soft summer breeze of coconut."
Yes the description somewhat suggests that Velvet Isle is better suited to the warmer seasons but with the light blend of fig and coconut (sweet yet not sickly) I find it to be both warming and inviting. The fragrance lingers but never overpowers and goes as well with lashing rain as it does the amber sun. Velvet Isle is clean and comforting and reminds me of line dry laundry with a slightly fruity punch. The more I think about it the more it has become apparent that this is rather similar to Diptyque's Figulier. What I like about the Arran Aromatics (super chic packaging aside) candle range is that should a scent become a firm favourite you can purchase the matching eau de toilette and vice versa, not to mention an entire range of bath and body products too. Spoilt for choice comes to mind.
The candle featured is the large pillar which burns up to 100 hours and costs £22.50.*
You can find the entire Arran Aromatics line up via their website - link, via Debenhams (currently 10% off) - link and if you are Glasgow based visit the store in Princes Square.
