I was lucky enough to be asked to partake in John Lewis' Secret Santa 2013 and couldn't have picked a better gift for myself if I tried. As you may or may not know various blogs were paired off and asked to choose a gift for one and other. I'm not going to divulge who I was partnered up with just yet as I don't want to ruin her surprise but I can share what I received and of course say thank you!
As you can see from the images I was gifted the Nails Inc Christmas Crackers which I adore and this onesie which I am keeping for Christmas Eve. The crackers I simply had to open but I did so in a sneaky way so that I can re-close them and pop them on my tree next month. For £39.50 which admittedly is pricey but you do get six crackers which are beautifully presented and six full sized bottle of Nails Inc polish (and a motivational quote) which would cost you £66 should you purchase each shade individually. I'm going to be blunt and say that should I have bought these for myself there is no way I would be sharing them...sorry not sorry!
The six shades are:
Baker Street - A bright cobalt blue that is a firm favourite of mine and this will be my third bottle of this hue. It has a high gloss finish, requires two coats and is a little prone to chipping so do use a good top coat. Oh and it is a firm favourite of Beyonce's too!
Mayfair Mews - A midnight blue fibre optic glitter polish which is better suited to being a top coat. This was a nightmare to photograph as it simply does not translate well on camera. It is rather pretty in person and has a sophisticated almost festive vibe yet can be used all year round.
Trafalgar Crescent - Another top coat but this one is officially described as a silver galaxy and I have to say it may be one of the best silver glitter top coats I have ever used. It layers wonderfully over all shades of polish (minus red oddly) for a little extra pizazz and hey it also gives a chipped manicure a new leash of life but you didn't hear that from me.
Mayfair Lane - If Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz made a polish this would be it - a full on dazzling glitter polish that can be applied on its own (three coats to become opaque) or over another polish, it pairs up well with reds, berries and black polishes in my opinion.
Kensington High Street - A rich glossy deep red wine shade that dries to a high gloss finish and is perfect for the chillier months.
Kings Road - Rose gold? Check. Opaque in one coat? Check. What more could you ask?
All in all a great gift idea or addition to any Christmas tree.
Thanks again to both John Lewis and my secret Santa!
